Dr. Michael R Stoffman, MD

I had severe back pain and went to Laser Spine where I wasted ab9out 20,000 for "band aid " surgery totally useless. I also had 10 epidurals with out any relief. I found Dr. Stoffman and he was very reassuring he could help me . He performed a double fusion using a microscope and I became pain free, that was in 2014. As years passed, 2025 having osteoarthritis,severe stenosis I contacted him again and he removed the old hardware and did a single fusion and am pain free. He was very pleasant to work with and all I can say is thank you, Dr.Stoffman.

Three years ago in 2017 Dr. STOFFMAN FUSED C5-7. I HAD SOB WHEN LAYING FLAT EVER SINCE. I HAD SEVERE GERD AND MODERATE PAIN SINCE. SEVERE MUSCLE SPASMS AND SHOULDER PAIN SINCE. TIA. VUSUAL DISTURBANCES, LACK OF BLOOD FLOW TO BRAIN ETC. I WAS HORRIBLE AND SUFFERED SO MUCH SINCE HIS SURGERY. HIS RESPONSE AFTER SURGERY WAS, "YOU WANT ME TO PERFORM MIRACLES?" BEFORE THE SURGERY IT WAS, "HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR NECK? COME HERE, YOU HAVE SPINAL CHORD COMPRESSION AND NEED SURGERY RIGHT AWAY." THEY SHOVED ME OFF AFTER SURGERY TO PAIN MANAGEMENT AND DID COUNTLESS INJECTIONS WITH NO HELP. TODAY, DR. JEFFERY LEWIS DID A SUCCESSFUL SURGERY TO FIX STOFFMAN'S SCREW UP. THE TECHNIC STOFFMAN USES IS OUTDATED AND WILL NOT HELP YOU. HE IS LAZY. HE DID NOT DECOMPRESS ANYTHING. HE BASICALLY LEFT DISC MATERIAL IN THERE, DID NOT DECOMPRESS DURA AND THEN WROTE ME OFF. HE IS A HORRIBLE SURGEON AND A COCKY PERSON. I SUFFERED NEEDLESSLY FOR THREE YRS AS I HAVE IMMEDIATE RELIEVE WITH SURGERY I HAD YESTERDAY.… DO NOT TRUST THIS DOCTOR. SAVE YOURSELF. THE PLATE WAS LOOSE EVEN AND CAUSED ME SEVERE GERD AND STOMACH MEDS CAUSED MALABSORBTION OF NUTRIENTS WHICH DETERIATED MY ENTIRE HEALTH. I WISH I COULD BEAT HIM AND CHOKE HIM NOW THAT I KNOW HOW NEGLEGENT HE REALLY WAS. SMH. UB MEDS WILL COVER UP THEIR WRONG DOING. MY FRIENDS GRANDMAS ARTERY WAS KNICKED N ALMOST BLEED OUT BY HIM I FOUND OUT LAST YR AND SOMEONE FROM PHYSICAL THERAPY LOST HER ABILITY TO SPEAK BECAUSE HE DAMAGED HER VOICE BOX. HE IS OVERATED AND IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE HIM A 0 OUT OF 5. DESPICABLE!!!!!! HOW DO THEY EVER GET HELD ACCOUNTABLE???? SMH SAVE YOURSELF AND GO TO DR Jeffery Lewis or elsewhere

Dr. Stoffman told me that he could stop my lower back pain by doing surgery on it. He performed the surgery on me and after a year I still have the pain and it is worse now than it has ever been. At my 6 month and one year checkup he said "oh well, you will just have to suck it up". It was a complete waste of my time and a loss of a lot of money. He gets paid even if he does a bad job. Where else can you get paid for doing a lousy job? I would not hire this guy to do work for me ever again. Stay away!

I Was recommended to Dr. Stoffman by my primary After it was found that I had two herniated disc’s, and one bulging disc in my neck along with severe spinal stenosis. I made an appointment, and found Dr. Stoffman to be very pleasant in our first meeting. He assured me that I was a great candidate for surgery. He took the time to answer all questions, and concerns I had regarding surgery, hospitalization, recovery, as well as treating the pain after surgery. I was reluctant to have this surgery but knew it had to be done due to the almost crippling headaches I was getting daily, as well as the shoulder pain that radiated into my chest, and of course the pain in my neck. so surgery it was. As soon as I recovered from surgery, and in my room I realized this was the first time in six months I have not had the constant headache. Yes there was pain for two weeks afterwards, but it was kept at a minimal with pain medications. As the swelling reduced,so did the pain. It has now been… just over six weeks since surgery, still headache free! No longer pain in shoulders, or neck area. I have been off all narcotics for over a week and have not even had to take Tylenol. There truly are no words to express my gratitude for how the surgery has change my life for the better. From start to finish, it was a five-star experience. If you are considering Surgical intervention, I would recommend Dr. Stoffman in a second with no regrets. Andrew D

This guy is the single biggest failure on multiple levels that I've ever come across in the medical profession. Arrogant, dismissive and even mocking, he acted as thought I was ruining his day and annoying him for even being there. Told me I needed surgery, then when I tried to follow up told me he never recommended surgery and acted like I was making it up. If I didn't know better I'd say he was afraid I was some kind of federal plant trying to catch him red-handed for unnecessary medical procedures. Scariest thing I've ever encountered in my 49 tender years on this planet. I will trash this guy on any and every forum I can find

Very dismissive, rude and condescending.

I was refferred to him for a second opinion, by Dr. Moreland. Moreland told me that my neck was so bad that I needed surgery. I also have Parkinsons. Stoffman was condescending and rude. He totally disregarded the materials I gave him. He said the MRI's were no worse than anyone's who were as old as I (I'm 71). And THEY don't have the kind of pain I claimed. I tried to explain more, and he said "You're not Listening to me." I countered with, "Actually, you're not listening to me." He looked at my husband and rolled his eyes. I am still suffering with terrible neck pain.

I recieved a referall to him from Kenmore Mercy ER. I had an MRI done at the hospital. When I finally (after two hours) saw him, he asked me more questions about my personal life than my current problem and medical history. It was so unprofessional, and it was just creepy. He was nosy and acted like a drama queen. He had a really fake smile and was not helpful at all. He told me that he could not read the MRI from Kenmore Mercy, that the person had done a bad job. Guess where he wanted me to get another MRI done?! His office. After leaving the appointment, I called my dictor and reviwed the MRI with their office over the phone. I was told the MRI from Kenmore Mercy showed what he would have been looking for. Plus, the print out explaining the images in the MRI. So he can't read, but he can write because I guess he is writing a novel about my life! Bad vibes. Never will go back. There are much better options in WNY considering the gravity of the injuries and conditions I DO have.
