I had bad back pain for years. Doctor after Doctor said they could not help me other than injections. Dr. Spiro looked at my MRI said I can fix that and 2 weeks later I was great. After "Doctor" Spiro for having two fx's on my L5 vert. & 3 blown out discs in my back. I was scheduled for a laminectomy with pedicle screws, & to have a interbody fusion. I went to the Beaver Med Ctr & was in pre-op, was given antibiotics and when I was about to go into surgery, Spiro backed out & stated he contaminated the OR with latex. I scheduled again & he accused me of being a drug seeker the 2nd time, because my PCP prescribed my temporary pain meds and not him. FIND ANOTHER SURGEON!!

Following problems post surgery I was asked "what do you expect at your age (75). I was reminded that my surgery (laminectomy) was an elected surgery, this is after I was told that my condition would get worse before it got better. I was also asked " what can't you do now that you could do before?

saw him on initial appointment for about5 mins and day of surgery for about 15 seconds. never seen again or spoke to him

It was a successful surgery. It was only 5 days ago but feeling great without the numbness in my leg.

Most horrible Dr I've ever seen. I was referred to him from an ER Dr after being in a bad auto accident.After waiting quiet awhile in the waiting room in pain I get called back go over what my issues are with the NP. Mr Spiro comes in the room asks how I got the injury, I precede to tell him about the accident...his response was " well that's impossible, if that happened you'd be dead" I started to get really upset and them he tells me I need to see My PCP because I have anxiety. He has the worst bedside manners....he's degrading...no caring for his patients at all!!!He told us he's been practicing for 30 years, he knows what's he's doing. I would never recommended someone see him.

Dr. Spiro is the best. If you want a direct, no nonsense doctor... Dr. Spiro is your man!

Very poor bedside manner. Did not want to discuss problems. Just said take pain meds till I was better. I could not walk because pain was so bad in buttocks and finally fell. In and out of hospital 3 times. No satifaction.

Dr. Spiro explained the procedure very thoroughly. I was able to schedule the surgery for the following day because I had been in so much pain for an extended period. I was able to get a follow up in 2.5 weeks so that I could get the clearance to go on a cruise a week later.
