Dr. Michael J. Stronczek
Dr. Michael J. Stronczek joined Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery Associates in 1992.Â Born and
raised in Fort Wayne, Dr. Stronczek graduated as valedictorian from Bishop
Luers High School in 1979.Â He attended
the University of Notre Dame graduating with honors in 1983.Â Prior to Dental School, Dr. Stronczek did a
missionary year with the Holy Cross Associates in Portland, Oregon.Â During this year, he taught 2nd
grade in an inter-city school and worked daily with the indigent population in
Portland.
Dr. Stronczek began his dental career in 1984 at Indiana
University School of Dentistry graduating with honors.Â Â Â During his clinical studies, it was clear
he enjoyed the surgical side of dentistry and he was accepted to The Ohio State
University in 1988 to continue his education in Oral Surgery.Â Dr. Stronczek completed his internship and
residency at OSU receiving his certificate in 1992.Â While at Ohio State, Dr. Stronczek completed
his Masters Degree …in Science doing a research project on dental implants
placed in irradiated bone to mimic the clinical problems seen in oral cancer
patients.
Dr. Stronczek became a Diplomate of the American Association
of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) in 1994.Â He is an active member of AAOMS, the American
Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesia, and the American
Cleft Palate Association.Â Dr. Stronczek
has also been inducted into the American and International College of Dentists.
Dr. Stronczek served on the AAOMS Committee of Anesthesia Â for 8 years.Â
He was awarded â€œCommittee Person of the Yearâ€ for his time served as
chairman of this committee.Â He recently
served a 2 year term as Board Member for the American Dental Society of Anesthesia.Â Â For the past 6 years, he has served on the
claims committee for OMSNIC, the primary malpractice insurance company for the
specialty of Oral Surgery and will begin his tenure as a Board Member this
fall.
Dr. Stronczek is passionate about Oral Surgery.Â He is presently director of The Fort Study
Club, a member of the Seattle Study Club organization.Â This is a group of local dentists committed
to providing the best comprehensive dentistry possible while remaining on the
cutting edge of technology and patient care.Â
Dr. Stronczek is a member of the Kid's First Craniofacial Team in Fort
Wayne, Indiana working directly with children born with oral and facial
defects.Â Â
When not practicing Oral Surgery, Dr. Stronczek is the proud
father of 4 children.Â They are
presently attending IPFW, Bishop Luers High School, and Canterbury
Grade School.Â He has been married to
Kathi for 19 years and they spend most of their free time driving their kids to
school events.
