DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. The office bariatric coordinator, Teresa Maravillo, advised me that bastric surgery was part of my medical plan. I checked with her twice to make sure it was covered with my insurance. She assured it was part of my medical plan. The doctor sent me to all these different doctors for test that the doctor required. I spent $2k on all the appointments and I'm still receiving bills from the places he sent me to. I completed everything that the doctor required and the insurance. Teresa sent the information to Cigna for approval. I receive a letter from Cigna that gastric sleeve is not part of my medical plan. She stated she is doing an appeal because they told her it was. IF ITS NOT A COVERED ON THE INSURANCE ITS NOT COVERED. This office is not reliable and the same thing happen to someone else that I know. I have requested to be compensated for the money that I have spent. The office manager, Kelly Watkins, tried to put the blame on me,… stating I should have checked my insurance myself and not just rely on Surgical Consultants of Dallas to provide me with the correct information. I'm not going to give up on trying to recoup my funds. I have been in touch with several news outlets and the Texas Medical Board. I really think something under hand is going on in this office. I feel that the doctor is getting compensated from all of the doctors he is sending his patients to. My insurance has been bills $22 from all the visits that the doctors required me to go to. THESE WERE NOT INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS.
