Dr. Michael Jonathan Tamber, MD

Dr. Tamber sounded like a good doc, but I'll never know, because his gatekeepers/phone staff are the BIGGEST TURN OFFS. Rude robots. It's the Spanish Inquisition to confirm the appt. If you don't call back right away they cancel your online appt. that you made. It's ridiculous. God forbid you should ask one question to these ladies at the front desk. Rude, condescending, inhuman. Dr. Tamber if you ever read this, give those women up front a "Come To Jesus" talk. It's your business, and they're costing you by being rude to your future patients,that ended up going somewhere else.

Very uncaring bedside manner. Flippant, arrogant, uncaring.

Dr Tamber has a very laid back style and is thoughtful in his approach. Some Endo's I have seen were very aggressive and judgemental, Dr Tamber is not at all like that and I appreciate how is approach to how he helps me.

while it took abut a month to see the doctor (books typically few weeks ahead), everything about him is making the wait a well worthwhile! I don't usually write reviews but after dealing with quite a few doctors and seeing so many uncaring and 5-minute-type doctors, Dr. Tamber has really proved the opposite about doctors. He is incredibly thorough(rare in nowadays!), knowledgible and takes his time to explain everything to you. I am glad I found him!

I was checking out my various doctors online and really feel like I should put in a plug for Dr. Tamber. I've been a patient of his for a couple of years now, and my experience has been fantastic. He's bright, funny (took awhile for that to come out), and extremely thorough. I also happen to be an RN, so I think I'm a pretty good judge of doctors. He has a great reputation, and I know of a couple of other doctors who sent their family members to Dr. T. That's high praise.

My regular doctor sent me to Dr. Tamber. He told me that Dr. Tamber is brilliant and noted to be one of the best doctors in the entire Everett Clinic. After my experience with Dr. Tamber, I'd have to agree. I went there for one issue, but he managed to also uncover a few other things that were wrong and is helping me with those, too. He seems really smart, he explains things very clearly, and he starts on time!

I went to see Dr. Tamber after being told that I had a thyroid nodule. He immediately could tell that I was very nervous-- ok, freaked out-- that I could have cancer. One of the first things he told me was, "Don't worry. Most lumps in the thyroid are benign and nothing to worry about." That brought my anxiety level down about 90%. We had a long talk during which he explained everything about thyroid nodules, including all the potential results we could get from a biopsy and how to handle each result. He biopsied my nodule at that same visit. Well, it turned out to be cancer, but thankfully one of the slow-growing kinds. Dr. Tamber talked to me about thyroid cancer and let me know what to expect during my meeting with the surgeon. He explained everything in such detail but still managed to keep it understandable for me, as a nonmedical person (greatly appreciated). I met with the surgeon recently and am expecting surgery in about 6 weeks. So far, I have been thrilled with the… care I have received, making the very best of a bad situation. I would recommend this doctor to absolutely everyone.

Hyperthyroid symptoms are difficult to diagnose. However, this is an endocrinologist and his field is diagnosing endocrine and metabolic disorders. I have a history of hypothyroidism and under treatment. Dr. Tamber assumed my symptoms were those of hypothyroidism and he based that solely on my lab results. In fact, they were symptoms of hyperthyroidism or Thyrotoxicosis caused by overmedication. He flatly refused to lower my dose even though I had cardiac symptoms which were worsening everyday. I had numerous other symptoms too. Disgusted with his lack of response, I had to find another doctor to treat my severe overmedication symptoms. I'm still recovering and it's been five and half months.
