Dr. Michael Franklin Walton, MD

He saved my life.

Dr. Walton and the doctor he worked with were very straight and to the point and I found that very refreshing. I was in the hospital for about a week.

I was admitted to NYU during a very difficult time in my life and was scared about how I would be treated. I was assigned to Dr. Walton and I found his visits with me helpful. He was straightforward but kind and he kept my husband and also my therapist up to date. I left the hospital feeling better and i was glad I was under his care.

This man created lies to formulate a hypothesis using misquotes of others. He should not be in practice. He ultimately misdiagnosed and was grossly negligent in treatment.

I've been going to Dr. Michael Walton for almost two years now. I have never reviewed an MD before, but Dr. Walton certainly deserves to be my first and only one. About five years ago I was diagnosed with depression and an anxiety disorder, and after years of not understanding what was going on with me and playing psychiatrist- and medication- roulette, I was referred to him by a Cornell professor who does research on mood disorders. I'm so grateful that this transition took place and am happy to be in Dr. Walton's care now.I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Michael Walton. Dr. Walton LISTENS and is incredibly PATIENT. When I talk (or when leaving messages on the dreaded voicemail), I become extremely self-conscious and I'm either super scatter-brained or not able to find my words, but Dr. Walton listens patiently with both a sympathetic and alert ear. Hes able to hack through the dense, tangled jungle that is my mind to get to the clearing lol.Dr. Walton is very… knowledgeable and dedicated to the field. I believe he teaches at Weill and has many publications as well, and is involved in research. My previous psychiatrists seemed out of touch with recent advances in psychiatry and probably the only things they read nowadays are the medication brochures that pharm reps bring them. Oh, by the way, Dr. Walton is the farthest thing from a drug-pusher (which is very important in this area). In my case, for example, he recognized that I would benefit more from psychotherapy than with medications.Dr. Walton has also been so accommodating in regards to his availability and fees. I've had financial and insurance issues over the last year and a half, and he was willing to work with me A LOT so that I could get the care I needed. One day he even told me that he wouldn't charge me for the session so that I could put the money towards an expensive evaluation at an addiction center which I thought I needed at the time. What?!? How ridiculously awesome is he??? That's unheard of. Also, I've had a difficult schedule with being away at school and everything, and Dr. Walton has totally worked with me on many occasions so that I was able to come in to his office as soon as possible. Seriously, Dr. Walton's compassion and kindness is out of this world. He is truly an inspiration for everyone and myself, as I am going in to health care as well. Dr. Walton is one of the individuals that I picture when I think of my role models because he truly cares about his profession and cares about his patients. He inspires me to take care of my patients with the same compassion and enthusiasm that he has shown towards me, and to go beyond what is expected.Needless to say, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Michael Walton. I almost don't want everyone to find out about his awesomeness, because I might not be able to get any appointments now lol. But I really needed to say how much of a difference he has made in my life (and my partner's), so there it is. Figured this was better and more anonymous than going around raving about my psychiatrist to random people. ;) We love Dr. Walton! By the way, there's no waiting time; "0 minutes" was not an option...
