Dr. Michelle Bloom, MD

I too had an impressive first visit with Dr. Bloom. She is thorough and professional. Her caring nature is evident and her skills are quite apparent. Her staff verified the appointment with a letter and follow up robo-call. The staff clearly follows Dr. Bloom's lead and is friendly and helpful. I feel like I am very good hands with the doctor and staff.

I met Dr. Bloom in the CCU of Stonybrook University Hospital after suffering an MI, AFIB and other cardiac issues. She treated me as if I was her father. Her kindness, gentle manner and amazing medical skills have kept me going even though I suffer from CHF. Dr. Bloom is an amazing clinician treating patients who suffer from debilitating heart failure and other extreme cardiac issues. I would follow her to the ends of Earth - she is that good (BTW I am a doctor snob). Mt. Sinai trained and close to home on Long Island - she takes her time with patients and listens. I am here today because of her.

First, I'd like to comment that my husband and I found Dr. Bloom extremely impressive. Her examination alone was very detailed, and she was receptive to questions and clear in her in-depth explanation of the plans moving forward. We felt we were in the most capable hands. Our experience of the staff was fine. They did call in advance to confirm my husband's appointment, and they were ready for him, and welcoming when he arrived.

Dr. Bloom is a very nice and reputable doctor but unfortunately her office is not very efficient. They do not provide reminder/confirmation phone calls or emails, even though they say they do, I have not received any. If you need to make an appointment it can only be done via her assistant, so if she is on vacation or out sick you can't schedule anything until she returns. Her office hours are not convenient for people who work full time so you need to take a day off, leave early or arrive late for work. AND, when I scheduled an appointment and arrived the day of appointment I was not scheduled, for any day or time. And they never called to follow up to rectify or reschedule. Time for me to find another cardiologist. Sorry Dr. Bloom!
