Dr. Michelle Ann Chapin, MD

Dr. Chapin is the least empathetic doctor I have ever met. I can’t believe this person chose to work with children. She made us feel like idiots because our special needs kiddo doesn’t fit into her rigid medical views. Parents can get medical facts on the Internet. What we need from a doctor is help tailoring to our specific child. She literally referred us to four other types of providers and did not help us with single question we had. If you find comfort in rigidity, this may be the pediatrician for you. If you need help with your specific child, look elsewhere.

Terrible judgement, terrible communication, rude staff.

She listened and was very caring, and thorough. I can understand Dr. Chapin's need to provide meticulous information to patients, parents, and caregivers. If she is not explicit with her instructions then errors, exacerbations and deteriorations occur. I'd rather she bruise my ego once or twice than jeopardize my child's health. Wouldn't you!!

We ended up seeing Dr. Chapin because our pediatrician was unavailable and my daughter needed a same day appointment. I have a very significant medical background myself, working with some of the nations top doctors and one of the nations top rated hospitals myself. Still, Dr. Chapin spoke to me like I was twelve. She attempted to make me feel guilty because my daughter had come down with a urinary tract infection and I didn't figure it out on my own until my daughter started complaining of symptoms. How am I to know that until she complains of symptoms? Furthermore, she questioned the clinical judgement of her OWN colleagues (other doctors with whom she practices) right in front of me, which I thought was VERY unprofessional, and way off mark. We will not be making any more appointments with Dr. Chapin, whether or not she is the only one available.

We have been taking our children to Dr. Chapin for about 4 years. The office workers at her office are great! Nice nurses. Very quick response when we have to call with a question for a nurse. The only issue we've had is that it often takes 30+ minutes after a well-child visit for the nurse to come back to give any scheduled shots. Overall, Dr. Chapin is a very good, knowledgable doctor! We can trust that our kids are in good hands with her!!!
