Dr. Michelle Anne Klaumann

Dr. Klaumann is VERY intense but VERY thorough!!! Our daughter was diagnosed with hip displasia at 6months of age back in 1997. We were refered to Dr. Klaumann who then took over the care, surgery and follow up. She fits the typical "specialist" stereo type --very focused, no time for small talk. She's honest and does not sugar coat. BUT she knows her stuff!!! Instead of being intimidated by her demeanor BE PREPARED ask questions. She is more than willing to sit and explain the diagnoisis, discuss follow up and she even highlighted points of interest on the X-rays to understand what we were looking at and why it was of concern. Our younger daughter is having some hip problems and I am VERY SAD that Dr. Klaumann has moved out of state.

My son broke both bones in his leg. When trying to put his cast on he we crying in pain. She told him to shut up, he was going to scare other patients!

Would highly recommend Dr. Klaumann to anyone. Great doctor/staff!

Saw her for my ankle fracture, she was the best got me back on my feet in no time. And her nurses were great.

Absolutely worst experience I have ever had. I should have sued for malpractice. Although, she had never done my procedure before, did not know how to do it, and someone in her same office specialized in it ( who eventually had to be consulted for my 7th surgery), she still decided to continue to operate. After multiple surgeries with the wrong equipment implanted, stiches coming undone, and the implantation eventually calcifying. She took a year and a half of my life in and out of surgeries and recovery time.

Dr. Klaumann has no patience to answer questions. It is obvious she doesn't have time for a parent to question her decisions. She requires you to go to an office visit and doesn't even spend 5 minutes with the patient. She did not even look at my child's incision at a follow-up visit. She regularly sees pediatric patients, yet her office has nothing for pediatric patients or other children in the family to do while waiting. There are no books, toys, etc. You would think a surgeon's office could afford something.

After a visit to our local, rural hospital, the doctor there left us with very little assurance as to my 14 year old son's condition. A referral from a family member lead us to another doctor whom we could not get to answer the phone. So, we found doctor Klaumann online and her very friendly receptionist was able to schedule us within a week (this was important to us since it was a broken bone and we weren't given much instruction on what to do from the previous doctor). Dr. Klaumann was matter-of-fact and very competent, which my 14 year old and I both appreciated. She didn't spend a ton of time with us, which was fine with me because she already had diagnosed, ordered the perfect x-ray (unlike our previous fuzzy one), gave specific instructions as well as answered all our questions about my son's condition and the use of the brace with the knowledge of a professional. In the back room, our "spot" was by a little girl who seemed to like Dr. Klaumann very well and after chatting… with her family, I realized they were very happy with the progress of their daughter's healing (arm broken in several places) and competence of Dr. Klaumann and staff. Besides having to wait for a while (better bring something to read and toys and snacks for the little ones just in case), it was a very satisfying visit.

Wish I could say it was a pleasant experience as she is the only pediatric ortho in Wichita, but it was not! Have been there three times and not once did she even attempt to listen or even pretend to care and her PA's seem to follow her poor example of bedside mannor. Really wish there was an alternative.

I have been seeing her for years and she is one of the best doctors ive ever had.
