Dr. Michelle Renae Mendez, DO

Most of the bad reviews on this site cannot possibly be true. Dr. Mendez is the only doctor who was able to help my daughter. After 22 years in two states having seen numerous primary care physicians and specialists, Dr. Mendez went the extra mile, even performing lab tests that were not covered by insurance. My daughter went from being suicidal to being happy, calm, and loving life. I am convinced no other doctor on the planet would have helped her the way Dr. Mendez did. Sure, her office is small and understaffed due to the Covid hoax, but they are doing the best they can.

Dr Mendez is a one-of-a-kind physician knowledgeable in Eastern and Western medicine. She gives you the kind of attention drs used to give in the good old days. Because of that, you will need to expect a long wait after your appt time. She really cares about her patients.

Dr. Mendez is an awesome person. I was a patient of hers for many years. The major issues with the office are that I waited in her waiting room at least 90minutes for each visit. I left her practice because she had me seen by students. I went to her for 6 mo or more for my shoulder and chest pain. Her PA or NP not sure of the letters sent me to the cardiologist. My cardiologist said my heart was fine and I should go back to her for investigation on the pain. Next visit I saw a student. Then she popped in the room for a few minutes to give me blood results. She would not talk about my shoulder as she will only (new protocol) se a patient for one item at a time. She said to the student and me that I need trigger point injections in my shoulder and need to make another appointment. Well my family ( three are physicians in other states) told me to get a new primary. The following week I saw a new primary doctor and within 10 days they had me in a pet scan as I was a breast cancer… survivor. I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in my rib and liver. Right where the pain is. I learned it is treatable but not curable. So good luck if you are going to this practice. No matter how much I like her it does not change the care and time spent (Over 10 years) in her office she gives in her office.

Dr. Mendez has been very helfpful to me and was the one person who brought together the information from various specialists and explained what was going on with my issue. She then created a plan of action to help resolve it. I love her office because every knows me by name. It's not one of those big offices that churns people through. I actually have an HMO policy that she is not on but I pay out of pocket to see her because it makes so much more sense for me. And the cost is reasonable.

The worst doctor I have ever seen. Very poor bedside manner. Long wait times

I needed a new GP due to relocation. She was in network and accepting new patients. I have a diagnosis of MS. I sent my records in prep for the appointment (I have to be referred to an in network specialist by an in network GP). All she said was that she won’t prescribe refills (non controlled). Ordered imaging and bloodwork. Didn’t address my diagnosis directly at all; it’s my belief she isn’t familiar with it any more than any person with access to google. Unless you need a referral, go with an urgent care. Abundantly clear she went to school for the lab coat and not the patient.

My husband was misdiagnosed from this provider and against his wishes I thought I would give them another chance. Then it happened to me .....but what bothers me the most is that I called several times to have the PA Cathy to call me back for my issue proceeded to get worse. I ended up going to the ER the next day and had to pay way out of pocket. I called the front desk and they assured me that I will get a phone call back. Nothing for one week. The office manager finally called me back at 4:58 on Friday just to check it off his list for his weekend to start. He could of cared less. I am a business owner and the way I was treated is Unexceptionable . Listen to your patients and show compassion. Find a caregiver who cares about their patients.

Every time I come here Im waiting more than 30 minutes to see a doctor. If my appointment is at 2.30pm but I see my doctor 3.20pm, I don't think that's acceptable. If this happens once, no problem, but I've been here so many times and it's always the same problem. Can you please fix your scheduling problems because I actually like the office and doctors.

I have been searching for many years for a doctor who would take the time to address my many issues. Dr. Mendez did so. We took one issue at a time and addressed the most urgent to the least urgent. Over the next couple of months, we were able to reduce many of the issues and draw up a plan for the future direction regarding my health. I am 80% better than I was 1 year ago. Many of my health issues pertained to my personal situations, so we have addressed as much as we can together, and I am addressing the rest on my own. We are continuing with our program and I am very pleased with my results at every turn.

After locating from NY it has taken me 2 years to find an office that I feel is a collaborative effort between myself and the provider and I appreciate that relationship. The ladies in the front desk are pleasant and the relationship with Cristina the PA is outstanding. I am thankful that our goal of maintaining health and taking the least amount of medications is mutually valued. I would totally recommend this office to anyone who values their health and wants to be involved in that process to maintain it. Thank you!
