Dr. Michelle Hogan Ost, MD

Dr. Ost has been the pediatrician for my 3 children for several years now. She is very kind, compassionate, and great at listening to any of our concerns. I love her approach to treating her young patients. She will look into concerns and order whatever tests necessary but considers the simplest solutions first like diet and lifestyle. I believe this is great for children to hear and reinforce the importance of good nutrition and physical activity. She is also very attentive to asking the child questions and reading their cues to understand if there may be a more serious health concern. The staff is also wonderful! Very warm, professional, and prompt! We are so happy with Dr. Ost and the team at U.P. Pediatrics!!

I took my 16 yr old daughter to Dr Ost for a yearly physical. I allowed her to go back alone to give her her privacy thinking they would call me back when she was done to go over her general health. They did come and ask me to sign for permission to administer a shot, but then released her without discussing anything with me. I am still her mother and I care about the health of my children. Although I did not anticipate anything being wrong with her health I assumed they would go over their finding with me, which they did not. When I inquired as to any information they said since I had another child with me and I was with them and I didn't have any questions for the Dr they did not see the need to talk to me. My daughter doesn't even normally see this Dr-- how is this building relationships with patients? So actually I have not even had a face to face conversation! I am her mother and care to hear how she is doing good or bad! I will not use her ever again in the future.

Dr. Ost has been a God send to our family. She has helped not only my son, but my entire family. My son has ADHD and ODD and was extremely difficult to deal with prior to meeting Dr. Ost. She has helped turn our family around. She has always carved out extra time to spend with us if we have additional questions or concerns. Also, the staff are amazing! They are all very warm and caring and do everything they can to make sure your experience is always great.

We were going to see the doctor because my son was having problems in school. He has a history of developmental delay with autistic features. One of his biggest needs mentioned in every IEP was his need to stick to a schedule. And if you pull him out of school, he loses the whole day just from the upset in the schedule. So I made an appointment and waited much longer (several weeks) just so we could have it at a time when he didn't miss school. Then one working day before his appointment they called and said that we had to come in early because there was change in office policy that said that patients must arrive early so we have to pull my son out of school early. So we had a great deal of upset and Dr. Ost hurt us much more than she helped us. Her attitude was that they can change office policy whenever they want and we can just go elsewhere. So I asked for a referral to go elsewhere and then waited over 30 minutes for it until a nurse came to say that she would mail it to… us.
