Awful. Cold/dismissive and ignores clinical symptoms completely. Would do better in a research lab not interacting with patients.

I would definitely not recommend I was for patient for 6 years she fixed my medical records to avoid in a medical malpractice lawsuit she also neglected to treat scleroderma for a year and for whatever reason she kept pushing the covid-19 vaccine even though I told her over and over I will not take the shot which had absolutely nothing to do with treating my lupus or my Scleroderma which by the way I came to her when I first saw signs of Scleroderma and she completely ignored my request to be treated or even tested for it until a year later when I finally had my dermatologist perform a skin biopsy and diagnose me with the disease by then it was too late she's a terrible doctor she's all about research and pushing vaccines she doesn't actually treat patients Johns Hopkins doctors are all about teaching and researching not treating patients that is why this hospital has so many medical malpractice lawsuits every day one is filed

Dr Petri only cares about the research. Stay clear from her!

I really depend on my internal medicine physician to send me to the very best the Memphis area has to offer, and she always has. Today I was seen by Dr Petri and as usual was so impressed by the care I received. Dr. Petri lets you have all the time you need to explain your symptoms. I was there due to wax in my ear, but she could diagnose other problems and is working to give me relief for what I was just calling “allergies “. I have total confidence in her. She has a friendly office and everyone is very professional.

I have had only positive experiences with Dr. Petri. Yes, she performs research, but the research that she does is for the benefit of lupus patients. I was first seen by Dr. Petri in 2014 after I became pregnant. Luckily, my case of lupus was mild at the time of the visit, and thanks to her treatment measures, I have had no serious complications with this cruel disease. Avoiding herbs, diet sodas and sugar-free foods, and taking baby aspirin and plaquenil has been my life saver! More importantly, my baby was born perfectly healthy, and I was able to become pregnant again without any difficulty. Dr. Petri always answered any questions that I had, and she never berated me or talked down to me. Since moving to New York, I haven’t returned to her, but if I resided in Maryland or Virginia, I would return to her office.

This person who masquerades as a doctor, is a researcher, not a doctor. They need to enlarge the exam rooms because with her enormous ego, there is barely room for the patient. She is only interested in finding more lab rat specimens for her research studies. She spends more time bragging about herself, than discussing the patients needs. She does not listen, interrupts constantly, tells patients they are wrong and she knows better, insists they take her chosen protocol medicine, even though I was allergic to the med she wanted to prescribe, she did not care. She talks down to patients and seems to need to put people in their lowly place, and remind that the MD after her name, stands for minor deity! She gives patients no credit for thier lived experience of thier illness, and does not care to listen to their story, or to take thier needs or desires into consideration. She will do everything possible to force you to get into her research study, and if you tell her no, she will… send one of her staff to hound you further. She has no respect for the patients, treats them like they are idiots and she is the only one with answers. She puffs herself up and tells you about her boring research alot, whether it pertains to your situation or not. What you want as a patient does not matter, it is her way or the highway. If you question or contradict her, or disagree with her, she treats you like you are an idiot, and goes on the attack. When informed that she would not be my physician if she were the last one on the planet, she waited a few weeks and then went into my My Chart, and wrote a scathingly nasty letter, with tons of false information, and even wrote that I was allergic to certain medications that I take often, and which are those given when I am hospitalized, often for heart problems. Had I ended up in hospital again, I would not have been given the meds to save my life and would have died. My cardiologist had to work to get the notes she put in My Chart, which said I am allergic to necessary, life saving medications, taken off my medical record. Make your own decision and choice of rheumatologist, but choose this one only if you want no say in your own health care, want no control over your own life or choice or medications or treatments, do not care to be listened to, validated, or respected, prefer a dr who steam rolls over you, rather than working with you, who will not take the time to listen or care, and will value you in any fashion, only if you are an interesting lab rat for her research. I gave one star because they wont let me give 0 or negative rating.

The doctor only treats you as her convenience for her research. Her scheduling department is very unprofessional and they contradict each other. Very disappointing experience. She will keep you as a patient only if it’s convenient for her research.

Dr Petri is a selfish doctor. She does not listens to her patients & only care about her research. I find that turmeric, garlic & other natural herbs & remedies help to relieve the swelling & pain in my body. Nevertheless, she is total against anything natural! Her excuses are turmeric & nature herbs will exacerbate the inflammation in the body. It nothing but hogwash! STAYAWAYFROMHER

Selfish. Not interested in your care, just her research - $$$ Administering methotrexate without first checking for infectious organisms (TB) - amateur hour - want to stay healthy? Avoid this one!!!
