Mickey Liao, MD, graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and from the Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia with a doctorate in medicine. He then studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in a graduate program, a clinical investigation, and for ethics in patient-oriented research. After finishing school, Dr. Liao completed his sophomore fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. He did his internship and residency at the University of Illinois and was the chief medical resident at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Liao then completed a geriatric medicine fellowship as well as a hematology and oncology fellowship at UCLA. While at the University of Illinois, he was awarded The Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award and the AOA Clinical Teaching Award. Dr. Liao is an associate member of the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical …Oncology. He is fluent in entry level Taiwanese and Mandarin.
