Dr. Miguel Angel Jurado, MD

My interaction with Dr. Jurado was in St. Mary's Hospital, Athens GA where he works as a "hospitalist" in the Inpatient Rehabilitative Medicine unit. His refusal to confer with other doctors involved long-term treating my complex chronic condition (unrelated to the traumatic injury resulting in my hospital stay) resulted in a hospitalization that was, literally, a nightmare. St. Mary's deserves better than this kind of attitude and treatment if the hard-working Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists stand any chance of successfully rehabilitating patients. If a patient cannot sleep, and is almost always in pain, how can they concentrate on recovery? A very sad situation to have this doctor directing the staff of what could be a stellar program.

Dr. J practices medicine the old time way. He has the most wonderful bedside manner and truly cares about his patients. I was blessed not only to be his patient but also his nurse. We need more just like him!
