Dr. Milana V. Dolezal, MD

I’ve seen Dr. Dolezal now for over a year in SF for my stage 4 cancer which I’ve been battling for years. She focuses only on new treatments and clinical trials but also on balancing side effects and trade offs. Thinks far into a future which is a word I praise with plan a- e if things aren’t working well enough even with back ups

Absolutely terrible experience. I only saw her once in person, she gave me an incorrect diagnosis and scheduled me for an invasive procedure. She did return my call when I explained her diagnosis was wrong, but her attitude was frustratingly awful on the call. She ran some more tests and never called me to give me the results. I’ve taken my results to another doctor who will give me the time of day.

Treatment options and evidence for these choices discussed with all of my and my family present and even friends email questions about side effects and what to expect was covered. All questions answered even before some were asked in very proactive helpful manner which made us feel confident about our decisions. Some things still beyond my understanding but I was impressed by communication style.

Dr. Dolezal was my oncologist for a year, during which I had surgery at UCSF Hospital and chemo at Alta Bates Hospital, followed by maintenance chemo. I moved to Palm Springs and had a round of chemo there and I have been in treatment in San Diego (Moores Cancer Center) ever since. I can compare hospitals and doctors and Alta Bates Hospital was wonderful! Dr. Dolezal and her very competent staff spent a great deal of time with me, explaining procedures. The social worker, Judith Shepherd, was especially kind. The overall feeling, even the ambience of the waiting room, was warmth and caring (this is very important when you are diagnosed with cancer) as well as competence. I highly recommend Dr. Dolezal and Alta Bates Hospital.

I have seen Dr Dolezal several times over the corse of a year, and feel she is very present, attentive, smart and easy to talk with. She takes one seriously, and is very thorough in her work. She seems to be very current on emerging ideas in her field. I wold give her a very strong recommendation.

Calm and pratacle. She really knows medicine. Very good with women and women's care! A great leader.

Dr. Dolezal has been my oncologist for almost two years. I see her at least once a month. She is smart, professional, competent, and experienced. Her credentials are impeccable. Her peers respect her and the staff at the hospital have confidence in her ability. As a patient, i find her to be straight forward, caring, and approachable. We make decisions together and she explains every detail of my treatment. i give her excellent marks.

She is very kind and has taken care of my mom for over a year for stage IV advanced cancer. She mentions quality of life in discussing treatment options and also brings up clinical trials and always thinking about next steps for my mom. She is honest and realistic yet sensitive.

Very comprehensive and picks up things that my internist didn't know about not related to my cancer. Feel very well cared for and spends a lot of time with me.

If you want to die , this is your doctor. I would have rated her minus zero if this where possible. This woman should be bared from practice in this country.
