One of the best doctors I have had the privilege to be under the care of. Very knowledgeable and very understanding. Listens to your specific questions and concerns. Very professional and efficient!!!

I completely disagree with the review that have been posted. I don't know what office they have gone to or what doctor they may be referring to, but my experience with Dr. De Jesus has been excellent. I have been to numerous neurologists, including Mayo Clinic, and I have yet to find one that explained my condition and its treatment as well as Dr. De Jesus. I really have trouble believing that the previous reviews are true.

I agree with the above poster about De Jesusbut I do disagree & think her office staff are NOT that helpfulI have been a longtime migraine sufferer & cannot take allot of medications b/c of the type of migraines I get.Before moving to AZ my old Dr had successfully treated me with a recently FDA approved & popular migraine medicationAt my first appt with Dr. DeJesus I brought in all of my recorders spanning over 15 years of treatments & failures.NOPE she did not want any part of it..She just wanted to start me all over again with a couple new or basically the same treatments which had previously failed.. She recommended following this path again blaming it on insurance reasons. (I had new insurance since moving)Once again I was forced to go down same path of failure. I was upset about the waste of dr. visits & medication co-pays but understood I needed to do this in order for her to help me.So finally after nurmourus Dr visits & failed treatments she was finally convinced & recommended… me for the treatment which I had previous success with( BTW this drug had made big news & had been recently approved & recognized as a migraine treatment..This was something she was not even aware of...I found this very odd considering her office advertised this treatment on their website & office literatureBut, in order for me to receive the treatment I needed to either pay out of pocket or wait till I got insurance approval..It is a very expensive medication so I had no choice but to be at the mercy of my insurance company & her.2 weeks later my insurance denied the claim so at my next Dr visit I had to ask her to if she could just please resubmit my claim (BTW even asking her to do this for me seemed to annoy her)I explained to her that I needed her help directly to convince my insurance company that she 100% recommends this treatment b/c it has worked for me in the past.But all she said was it was up to me to do all the work & that the insurance company does not want to help me & that because I don't need that many units of medication maybe I can work something out with the office & talk about paying out of pocket expenses...WHAT!I had tears running down my face telling her I could not afford that even though I desperate to get better & how much I hate having to just depend on gross pain killers or unsuccessful medications about how I have a job, small child depending on me & how I just want my life back.Well, all she did was nod at me with this fake sympathetic expression on her face! I then felt embarrassed..But I did finally convince her to resubmit my claim again. 2 weeks later another DENIAL So this time I called my insurance company & they told me Yes, it was recently FDA approved as a migraine treatment & that because of my past history & very limited options of medication I could defiantly get the approval but only if my Dr. sent in a personal recommendation & some other paperwork which was needed but was never submitted. My insurance company also told me that if the office called in & if they were able to speak directly to the Dr. that would help me get the approval much fasterSo of course I called De Jesus's office & left a very detailed message about all this.I never got a response. So, I left another message..NOTHING!Seems to me SHE is the one that does not care or want to put in the lil extra effort to help patients get the treatment they need unless it is easy & convient for her & her office staff. Well, after not receiving any type of call back from her or the office staff I am now once again on the search for another neurologist because this office does not seem to care about it's patients & only about receiving money directly from their patients or very easy insurance payouts.

Well first off, the staff, other than her, are excellent. They have wonderful attitudes and are so helpful. But, I had to reschedule my two appointment at least 4 times, and its not because of me. They gave me a bunch of bogus reasons why but either way, just give me another doctor than, I would like to find out my problem now, not two months from now (wich is exactly what happened, I went two months with out an appt.). When I finally was able to talk to her, she could only tell me my brain waves were abnormal and I need medication. Well I knew that part, what we were also looking for was answers to questions like, what are my triggers? Can we find them out? Can my children have them? Could we test them in later life to see if we should watch for signs? What caused them or could have caused them? Why are my seizures going from petite-mal to grand-mal? and why is there such a large gap between this seizure and the last one I had 10 years ago? The only answer she had for ALL these was,… "well it depends." that was it, no explanation, just it depends. On what though? She "couldn't say." Holy crap, you are actually a medical doctor and you specialize in this sort of thing and you have no answers, even after all the tests. So moving on, well can't we wait to medicate me until after the end of my pregnancy? Not a good idea she says. What if I had a seizure again while driving? I am not suppose to be driving at all. What if I had a seizure during labor? Well, if I am at the hospital, don't you think I am in the best place to be having one, strapped in a bed with hundreds of nurses and doctors around me?! But she kept pushing the issue to medicate me while still pregnant, even if my OB disagrees (after all, its not her unborn baby we are worrying about, why should she care?). We also couldn't understand her much of the time, she has a thick heavy accent and seems to get pretty offended if you ask her to repeat herself. All in all, I am getting a second opinion from the Barrows institute, they have a much better reputation than Dr. De Jesus.
