Dr. Mildred Johanna Wessigk De La Cruz

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS MY OPINION!!! Dr. Mildred Wessigk was the email unprofessional doctor I have ever had, and I noticed there is a five star review on here that appears to have been written by Dr. WESSIGK. Has anyone ever heard of a patient writing a review where they talk about their doctor’s being restricted by SOP’s and limits to which they’re allowed to treat patients like the one in the five star review here ever? Nope! If you answered no, then you realize that that five star review was absolutely 100% written by her in order to make herself look better. In my experience She’s horrible. She cancels appointments without a reason, and without even contacting you.. When you reschedule appointments, she cancels those without notifying you as well, and when you actually get an appointment be wary, it’s as though she’s not all there, meaning that during past appointments, Dr. Mildred Wessigk has mistakenly talked to me about other patients medical records and prescriptions,… thinking that I was the patient that she was referring to, and when I correct her, she pivots as though she’s done nothing wrong. She has had the nerve to offer multiple times that if I wasn’t happy with her care, that I could request a different doctor, but I absolutely refused to do so, because it meant that another veteran was gonna get a horrible doctor; (in my opinion), that didn’t provide even the basics when it comes to being human with their patients. She said to me that I needed to keep my email messages to her short because I’m not her only veteran that she cares for. I believe that saw her in person twice over the years that she was my primary care physician, and during the second visit she started off by complaining about the fact that she has to care for other doctors patients as well as her own when those doctors are on vacation, even though they provide the same service to her when she’s on vacation. Such an Ick attitude. I should have fired her years prior, but my belief was that she should do her job, and that I was going to be the one to hold her feet to the fire, and I did so for years, until it got to the point where she refused to allow myself THE VETERAN, at a VA clinic where she works to even schedule appointments, as she would cancel them. Ha ha ha, Quit. She is very vindictive, and will act unprofessionally by withholding care as a means of retaliation. When speaking to random VA employees about my problems with Doctor Mildred Wessigk, including those that schedule VA appointments over the phone, they often would have heard of her, and tell me about the problems that other veterans had experienced as well. One of the times when an employee asked if I would like to change doctors, once they heard her name, they would say to me that there’s been quite a few people withdrawing her care, and changing to different doctors, and I was not surprised. I filed a long overdue formal complaint, and I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only veteran under her care that’s done so, and the only reason that she’s still working at the VA is because they’re desperate for doctors.

Dr. Wessigk is the most wonderful person personality-wise, but she makes MISJUDGMENTS and she OVERMEDICATES.

Dr. Wessigk works harder, and worries more about her patients than any other doctor I have EVER encountered. She is my primary care doctor at the Veteran's Hospital in San Diego. If anyone has any concerns about her practice in the Veteran's Hospital, they need to keep in mind that the Veteran's Hospital imposes protocols and SOPs on her which limit the extent with which she is permitted to help her patients.
