Dr Birmingham handled both my left knee replacement in 2021 and my right knee replacement in 2025. He & his staff did a wonderful job; the first surgery was inpatient and the second was outpatient. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the outpatient surgery went & highly recommend this setup. I was in and out of physical therapy in 2 weeks & back at work in 4 weeks. - Shelia Haynes

Dr. Birmingham has done two knee replacements for me and I have to say he is absolutely the BEST!!! He doesn't push you to rush into surgery but rather gives you the facts and then lets you take all the time you need to decide whether or not you'll have the surgery. His confidence as an orthopedic surgeon made me feel very secure with him. His friendly and caring nature made me feel right at home with him from the very first meeting. I would definitely recommend him to anybody without hesitation. Really, he is hands down simply the very BEST!!! He has given me a very great gift and I will always be extremely grateful. Dr.Birmingham is without a doubt the most personable doctor I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He spent a lot of time with my husband and me explaining what was going on with my knee. I was scheduled for a knee replacement just two weeks after my initial visit which was wonderful as I was in a lot of pain. He explained the surgery and what to expect afterwards thoroughly and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed.The surgery went well as did the follow up care with physical therapy. I’m so glad I was referred to him. He’s one of the very best.

Dr Birmingham has an excellent bedside manner. He listens to the patient, takes the time to explain the pathology of the problem, the tests required to confirm the problem and his approach to taking care of me.we were both very impressed (including my husband who is a retired physician).

Excellent experience. My previous Ortho. Had retired. I woke up during the night unable to bear any weight on my leg. Called OrthoVa at 8 AM and was sched. to see Dr. Birmingham at 10:20. I really like his bedside manner. No beating around the bush about we should try XYZ. He informed me that years of abuse ( rock climbing, rope rescue, fire/ems) have obliterated my knee. The front desk staff and nursing staff were also amazing .

I was very pleased with Doctor Birmingham’s friendliness and bedside demeanor. I was not rushed during my visit He assessed my condition and gave me options to help me get stronger. He invited me to be a contributor in my diagnosis. My questions were answered with no judgement.

I am very pleased with Dr. Birmingham. He preformed a knee replacement on my left knee & will do the same on my right knee in the near future. He’s takes the time to listen & explain any of your questions.
