Dr. Miles H Mason, III

Dr. Mason gently pushed me to move up my surgery. We did it the Friday after Thanksgiving. He calmly and thoroughly answered all my questions and provided me with written information about my surgery that I could review when I was in a calmer place. His staff is amazing, too. Beth, in particular, is the sweetest person I have ever dealt with in a doctor's office. Be accepting that you will wait a bit. Dr. Mason's attention to a patient cannot be set to adhere to a 15-minute schedule. If it takes longer, the next patients will have to wait a bit longer. However, they, too, will receive the same unhurried attention to their concerns.

I took my mother to one of her appointments and sat for over an hour BEFORE she even got called. My 83 year old mother was treated very rudely, as was I, by the staff and even after her surgery when she was starting to do very poorly they did not return telephone calls to her. I finally had to call and raise havoc for them to respond and she was subsequently re-admitted to the hospital. While she was in the hospital he would not return my telephone calls. Neither of us were being overly dramatic, her situation became increasingly grave and she subsequently died. I have very strong suspicions based on everything that occurred and some of the other attending physicians' comments - the surgery did not solve her problem and never should have been attempted to begin with. Apparently, after talking with nurses and other former patients of his, this is a pattern. Be ware, Dr. Mason is not the "God" he thinks he is.

I couldn't have been luckier finding this doctor and his staff when I did. They are the epitome of what the medical community should be! Caring, considerate and concerned about your health first and your ability to pay or your insurance carrier second. He is professional, friendly and excellent at what he does.

Dr. Mason is a caring and excellent doctor, one I would trust without reservation. He is friendly, never rushes his patients, and is a great listener. Of course, his desire to spend as much time with his patient as necessary and as his patient wants, means that you can expect to spend some time in the waiting room. But once with Dr. Mason you will know while it is worth the wait. He is a skilled and caring surgeon combining the personality of an old fashioned country doctor with the extraordinary skills of modern medicine. I can't speak too highly of him.
