Dr. Millard Fillmore Banker IV, MD

My mother was in the ER with severe nausea & weight loss after having 2 hip replacements - (first one splintered off and had to go back into surgery) within 10 days. This caused her to have severe gastritis and what we eventually found to be lesions from such via an Endoscopy that Dr Banker did nothing to determine or seem to care about. She had no severe breathing issues nor a fever or cough. He was more worried abt what his staff would catch during this “virus fiasco” in America than treating her. Her primary physician had to demand they run tests as did I. We finally checked her out of the ER (b/c he gave her much of NOTHING to help her gastritis - didn’t even diagnose her with it) and the next day she got worse again so thank God for the doctor at Vidant’s ER who had enough sense & compassion to determine what was wrong with her and how extreme her gastritis was! His attitude and disposition was unbelievable for a medical doctor!

I was admitted to Carolina East via the ER for extreme shortness of breath and very limited energy. Walking 25' resulted in 5 minutes of panting with a lot of chest pain. These symptoms had been treated as heart related since I have HCM and persistent Afib. I've had numerous heart procedures and a variety of medications but over the past year, the symptoms I described have gotten worse. Dr Banker took a look at my chart the morning after I was admitted and according to one of the nurses, said "The problem is his low hemoglobin, he needs iron!" One more day and one IV iron treatment and I started to turn the corner. Now, 5 weeks later, I feel better then I have in at least a couple of years! Thank you Dr Banker! He also provided me with a referral to a highly rated Internist in the Carolina East System with whom I am also very satisfied!
