I am a 60-year old woman with a very long list of diagnoses. I've had terrible luck with PCP's since 2000. [Everything from (1) a PCP who experienced a serious psychotic break during my appointment to (2) a PCP who, when presented with a lengthy history of family deaths from Aortic Aneurysms, refused to refer me to a cardiologist but selected a nephrologist instead to (3) a PCP who sexually molested me after hours when his receptionist and nurse had already gone home.] I'm sure you can understand my leeriness when it comes to selecting a PCP - the irony of this is that 99% of my legal practice revolved around teaching Physicians the basics of Medical Law and the proper method to keep legally-defensible medical records. So, as a group - I love the people who choose to practice medicine! After determining that my PCP had to be replaced [He is described in #2 above] I began asking ER doctors to give me their personal 3 favorite PCPs. I surveyed 10 ER doctors and 12 ER nurses… associated with the Cleveland Clinic. Seventeen (almost 80%) listed Dr. Zivic. No other PCP went over 34%. Decision made! I have been his patient for nearly a year (which I understand is not a super long period of time) but he got off to the best start I've ever had with a PCP. He began reviewing all of the various diagnoses and asked me to write down the 2 that I thought needed immediate attention and he selected 2. They happened to be the same and that's where we started. BUT in every session since then, he ALWAYS asks me which of my issues need attention and he always adds my most serious issue to his.. I'm a real member of the health care team - and I feel empowered. I did read the comments that were very critical of this doctor. All I can say is that NONE OF THE SPECIFIC NEGATIVE COMMENTS describe the man I know. That doesn't mean that these things didn't happen, but my experience has been the very best.

Very nice, very compassionate, great diagnostician.

Never shows up anywhere, sends physician assistants. Does not read test results. Has no compassion for elderly patients. If you have no regard for your loved ones life, this is the guy.

Spent two days in the hospital because he wouldn't simply pick up his phone. Only cares about the money. Misdiagnosis and laziness are his only talents.
