Dr. Miriam Ruiz Lomelino, MD

Dr. Lomelino is a caring & compassionate doctor who listens and takes the time necessary for a good examination. She is conservative in her approach to prescriptions and invasive procedures, while staying on top of annual screenings, labs, and vaccinations. Her office staff is also caring and easy to work with. Time spent in the waiting room is minimal.

So happy I found her while she was still taking patients w my insur. She is very thorough, knowledgeable, pro-non prescription efforts to fix what can be fixed without overprescribing at first diagnosis, empathetic and personable! She is a great listener and trusts me to know my own body and recognize symptoms that need her expertise.

Went to Lomelino with a growth in my armpit. Started out small, but got larger. It could be felt manually, but for some reason, no one could find it with an ultrasound. I also had a needle biopsy without a CT Scan, and without topical anesthetic. The dr. who performed this could not find anything. As the growth got larger, the more pain I experienced. When I went to Lomelino to ask for an approval for me to take time off work until this could be resolved, she didn't believe that I was in pain. I finally had to go to a neurologist who sent me to Stanford. By this time, the pain was unbearable. The surgeon at Stanford removed what he called "an unusual lipoma." I can't tell you what a relief that was to get it removed. The neurologist showed me pictures of the armpit area, and told me removing something from this area, was like removing bubblegum from hair. Lomelino and her staff treated me like I was a liar. On my last visit, they put me in a room and left me there. … After 45 minutes, I left and never returned.
