Ratings above relate to the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.I went to see Dr. Berger at the UWMC in Seattle 17 years ago for a second opinion on a brain tumor diagnosis.(Now called oligoastrocytoma?). He informed me that he was the best there was in the field and took quite a bit of time to explain both what was happening and what to expect with the surgery. The surgery was performed a few months later (I had just started my own CPA practice and did not want to give it up since the seizure occurred in January)Surgery went very well, but no radiation at that time.About 8 years later, I had another seizure which indicated some regrowth.By this time Dr. Berger had moved to San Francisco, but wanted to look over my scans anyway and if another surgery was indicated, he wanted to do it. Since the regrowth was too close to an area controlling my left side, it was determined that 6 week radiation treatment was the best way to go.I was sorry to see him leave UWMC and would… not hesitate to go down to SF if Ineeded more neurosurgery. It was a great opportunity for him, and he fully deserved the promotion.
