Dr. Mitchell Forest Reiter, MD

I was involved in an accident where I was hit in the rear of my car which rendered me with a crushed vertebrae. After all the typical treatments did not work, my friend suggested I make an appointment with Dr. Reiter. As a contractor, I do not have the luxury of sitting behind a desk at work, therefore, making me willing to keep going no matter what I had to do to find a remedy. I was floored when I met Dr. Reiter. His knowledge of what was going on when reading my MRI results was astounding. He mentioned that he didn't think I needed to have a fusion done, but thought he would be able to get me back about 75%-80%. I agreed to proceed with the surgery. After 3 years now I have complete use of my leg and would recommend it to anyone. Dr Reiter is really a one of a kind doctor. He spends tons of time with you, he thinks through options and is extremely thorough in his assessment and examination. He is kind, supportive, respectful and straightforward. Brian, the PA and Alex at the front desk are all top-notch professionals. I cannot rate this group highly enough. If I ever needed surgery, I wouldn't go to anyone else but Dr. Reiter!!

I was under the care of numerous doctors treating pain in my right arm along with tingling and a cold sensation..They continued to treat a shoulder injury. I went to my third Doctor who asked if anyone ever looked at my neck? They didn't because I never had neck pain. I was recommended a spine Dr in Wayne who Sent me for an EMG. The day of the testing I went home and realized that when I turned my head one way, my arm went numb and the other way it went away. I went to my follow up and the Doctor told me the EMG was fine. I explained what happened when I turned my head and he/she said "oh that's your neck" I was sent for an injection into my neck with a horrible side effect. I was explained that I had 4 bad discs in my neck and we needed to discuss surgery. I researched the surgeries and found I could have a fusion or a disc replacement. I spoke with the Doctor and stated I wanted the disc replacement and was told I wasn't a candidate for that surgery due to the number of discs. I… was against the fusion due to reports of lack of mobility and herniations. I was recommended to Dr Reiter by a fellow police officer who went to him. I made an Appointment, from the first phone call to my last appt with his office staff, his P.A. and x-ray tech was nothing but a total pleasure. When I met Dr Reiter, his personality total blew me away. He was kind, patient and had a great sense of humor. I gave him all of my tests and explained what I have been through in the past 4 years and he apologized and said he can help me with a disc replacement on 2 of the worst discs. I was overwhelmed and got emotional. I scheduled My Surgery with HIM and that was 1 year ago. From the time I woke up from surgery to today I have had no pain, needed no pain meds and no Physical Therapy. I have total mobility of my neck. Dr. Reiter was amazing and I highly recommend him and have sent many people to him. I actually carry his cards around and hand them out. He is a Doctor that took away pain I suffered for 4 years unnecessarily.

I suffered from neck/arm pain for almost 10 years and had tried everything... chiropractors, physical therapy, medications, massage... and had visited other surgeons. Dr. Reiter listened carefully and empathetically and ultimately performed disc replacement surgery. My life has completely changed. The relief of finally being able to sleep and drive and get through my days pain-free is indescribable. Dr. Reiter and everyone on his staff were absolutely wonderful. Appointments were always on time, though never rushed, and everyone was courteous and friendly.

Simply put, Dr. Reiter is the best you could ever ask for!

From initial call through consultation and surgery, always treated with respect, without ever feeling rushed. After my visits with other surgeons I appreciated that Dr Reiter checks his ego at the door. He fully explained my options and created realistic expectations. I suffered with neck pain and radiculopathy for over 6 years that was progressively worsening. I visited many specialists with no positive results until being treated by Dr. Reiter and his staff. Dr. Reiter performed a cervical disk replacement surgery almost a year ago now and I have had fantastic results. Dr. Reiter is an excellent surgeon and was able to help with with the back pain and leg numbness I had been suffering with for over 30 years. He performed a complex spine surgery even when other Dr’s were unable to help. He explained everything well and always answered my questions in a timely and professional manner. His staff was also very knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with. I would definatly recommend Dr. Reiter and the NJ Spine Specialists. The best Dr. I have been to and will continue to rely on. He's not just your surgeon, he's the doctor that will be straight with you. He's not going to try and sell you on getting surgery, he's the doctor that is going to run the options down so you have a better idea of what you are dealing with. THE BEST!
