Dr. Mitchell Alfred Schuman, MD

Where do I begin? All because my ophthalmologist was on vacation at the time, of course that's when I have an emergency with my eyes. I was so grateful that they fit me in and was able to see me on short notice. I arrived @ 10:00 am and left the office @ 1:30 pm. Why? The Dr has the gift of gab. Perhaps he tries to be funny but comes across rude, sarcastic and condescending. Needless to say he was out of network for me but I agreed to pay $150.00 out of pocket to be seen. {Had to post date a check for the following week for I needed to budget my money to cover unexpected expense} Upon leaving it cost me $300.00 {$150.00 > office visit & $150.00 > additional test}. If I walked out of the office with a piece of mind I wouldn't mind shelling out this kind of money. Do yourself a favor DON'T go to a quack of a Dr!

My surgery wasn't successful at all

The wait for the appointment was longer than normal because of the weather and traffic. Icy roads and subsequent traffic were responsible for delaying Dr. Schuman which made him late for a 9;30 appointment. This was my first visit with Dr. Schuman, and I liked him from the start of my visit with him. He obviously has a good working relationship with his staff and I would say that this initial visit was actually fun. The only criticism I have is that during my appointment he answered a phone call and spent some time chatting with another doctor. My only suggestion would be that it would have been more professional if he had returned the call at another time.

Professionally, I can't say if he's a good doctor or not. He was busy ridiculing everything i said. It felt very strange to have a professional man act in such a manner. I'm still shaking my head. I'll blame it on the weather, its been a long cold winter for all of us, perhaps once he comes out in the sun, he'll feel better.

I think you have to pinky white to get by the office manager.....My daughter has Healthplus and recently had a baby at 19. They live with me along with the boyfriend and I support them.....As soon as the doctor heard she had a baby he went on asking her if she intended to have 10 more and be on welfare....that continued until I told him that she is not on welfare....my daughter was humiliated. I will never go back.
