Dr. Spero is doing a great job with our pre-teen son. He always puts our child's needs first and has built a strong bond of trust with him. Our son has become calmer, more self-aware, and motivated to do his best, while also building his confidence. The sessions are usually a lot of fun, with Dr. Spero playing chess or joking around, but they’re still really productive. This relaxed and enjoyable environment makes our son look forward to his sessions. Dr. Spero also listens to parent feedback and adjusts things as needed. He’s a great professional but also knows how to be funny and approachable, which is so important to make sure kids are engaged and really hear what he’s saying.

Grateful for much needed professional advise. Dr Spero has been available to guide my family through difficult times. Along the way we have sorted several situations and issues which have required an objective and professional opinion and clear mind in order to navigate muddy waters. We have been fortunate to have been able to call on Dr Spero to shine a light during such times. I first met Mitch many years ago when he provided counseling to my daughter, who is dyslexic. That experience was life changing. When my granddaughter was diagnosed with ADHD, we took her to see Mitch. Now, at 16, she still asks to see Mitch when life is getting too stressful. His counseling has become a valued part of our life. He is often late for appointments, because he is not a clock-watcher. He stays with the child until he feels there has been some resolution to the current problem. To him, the child is paramount, and he uses talk, games, toys, anything, to interact with the child. I give him the highest recommendation.

During the course of approximately 5-6 visits Dr. Spero was never on time. This means on average he was consistently 20-30 minutes late, up to over an hour, and/or a cancelation. My son felt unimportant and that he could not trust him for help. We had the pleasure of hearing multiple excuses for his habitual tardy schedule; all were personal and not excusable. I found it ironic when he, after being late, told my son the importance of scheduling extra time for activities that may require additional assistance; when he himself, was incapable of doing so. I would not recommend him to any person seeking mental health. I took my time to find a therapist that could relate to and help my son. Sadly, he is left feeling like he wasted his time and doesn't feel he will be able to connect with anyone again.

I’ve gone to him for a little while and I like it. It is a little wait but good things are worth waiting for. Once you get in the call it’s definitely worth and you will likely see an improvement in your life.

Dr. Spero came highly recommended from our daughter's teacher to help with some issues she had with anxiety and some fears. We had tried other places and many methods with very little progress and success. Dr. Spero is wonderful with her and she has made significant progress since we started. Definitely recommend him!

He worked closely to diagnose and create a plan to help my son recover from depression. He also identified an underlying cause which was ADD. It wasn't easy but with hard work on all our part, I can say my son is a well adjusted successful student who feels confident in his abilities and about himself.

I waited an hour for my appointment. The staff when you call is terrible and if they have to call you back they never do. He likes to cut you off from talking and talk about himself instead and his accomplishments. He seems to have ADHD or something like that I think. And yes, I agree with other reviews, he likes to use tests for some odd reason.
