My husband had a large hematoma removed by Dr Mitchell.Upon arriving home my husband felt dizzy and started profusely vomiting.I called Dr Mitchell right away for help.He was paged at the hospital and came on the phone.I told him what was going on and he said "which patient is this?" # 23410?He was really rude! He started yelling at me telling me to take him to the ER and then he said why am I even talking to you where is the patient? why aren't I speaking to him? I put my husband on the phone in between the vomiting.My husband couldn't talk. That he rudely ordered me to bring my husband to his office no later than 2:30 that day. My husband went in Dr Mitchell was extremely rough, unprofessional, and his bedside manner was horendes!!!! I would not let this man touch me with a 10 foot pole!! Beware!!!

Post surgery care was bad. Pain medication that was prescribed was not enough! A week of pain medication would have been better. We tried to contact him only to be told he’s on vacation, does not do refills, and could only leave a message. Was also told to go to the ER to Br treated for the pain. We came to Maui for this procedure and have to rely on family to drive us around, we’re in Kahului and they live upcountry. Can’t rent a car because we can’t drive.

10 years ago i had a colonoscopy performed by mitchel tasaki. during the initial interview he made several mistakes regarding the meds i take and was on his cell all the time.i had to correct the info he took down.then his nurse did not call in what you take before the colonoscopy, i had to rent a car and drive from lahaina to wailuku TO PICK UP THE PRESCRIPTION!!! although he was told by my family physician that i was hard to sedate (high drug tolerance) he used versed and demerol instead propofol during the procedure, starting out with 4mg/40 mg, then 6/60,8//80,finally 10/100. i was wide awake during the whole thing. my bp, rr and hr were normal. when i asked him afterwards why he did not use propofol or a stronger dose of demerol, he said" your bp was getting critical". so i asked mmmc for a copy of the readout that is taken during the procedure and at NO POINT was any of my vital signs even close to not norma. when i sent the readout to tasaki and asked him to point out where and… when the problem was, he said:"there was no problem, i just want to be my patients LIGHTLY sedated". he did NOT tell me that before and lied to me afterwards. had he told me, i would NEVER have used his services. i will have my colonoscopy this year with a surgeon using PROPOFOL and be knocked out.i do NOT recommend dr. tasaki at all. he seemed to be distracted all the time and the experience was terrible. it took over an hour before a 20-30 minute procedure was finally done, i was in pain the entire time and fully awake. a colonoscopy is bad enough, i don't need a doctor who is not paying attention , does not do what he should do and then deceives his patient. he was also not using the proper meds in my case. my bp during the colonoscopy was at 130/80, rr at 9 and hr at 75-80. not the condition you want to be in, awake, fully aware what is going on and getting one dose of meds after another. when he was at 10/100 mg, the first dose started to wear off already.plus, an unnecessary trip from lahaina to wailuku for the prep med that could have been called in. the info was just handed to me, no explanation, i had to ask my family physician what to do and how to prepare. an experience i do not want to have again!!

Went in with a very large and extremely painfully infected cyst... Rather than just draining it which most doctors do in that situation - he actually laid me out right there and took the whole thing out using local anesthetic in several areas. Kept conversation with me throughout entire 30 min. procedure. Kept asking how I was doing and was careful to apply more anesthetic while performing the operation... impressive! Four hours later, already feeling much better. - Highly Recommended!

Dr. Tasaki was responsible for saving my life. I'm not sure that another surgeon would have been able to pull off the feat he did on me. I owe him everything. If you want the best surgeon in town to remove your gall bladder not matter how dangerous, than he's your man.

Dr. Tasaki is an excellent physician and very thorough.

Did a fabulous job...can hardly tell there was a cut and recovery was very fast.Took two days off. Am 50 years old. Very good answering all of my questions and good listening. Cared about ensuring that results were delivered to us quickly.
