Dr. Mohammad Sadiq

Mohammad Ali Sadiq, MD, provides care with the Eye Institute as an ophthalmologist.Dr. Sadiq earned his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. Following medical school, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Stanford University. He went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, N.Y. Prior to joining Springfield Clinic, he provided ophthalmology care in Kentucky.Inspired by his physician parents, Dr. Sadiq knew early on that medicine would be his calling. “Seeing the impact my parents made in their patients’ lives every day helped me realize early on that medicine was the path I was meant to follow,” he shares.Dr. Sadiq specializes in vitreoretinal surgery and provides comprehensive care for medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal …tears and detachments, and complications from other eye diseases.He believes patients do best when they are fully involved in their care. “I want my patients to truly understand their condition, because that’s when they feel empowered and achieve the best outcomes,” he says.Outside of medicine, Dr. Sadiq enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and their fluffy four-legged friends. He is also an avid cyclist and skier and enjoys listening to good music.
