Excellent experience all around.

I had a great experience with Dr. McCarthy. She was incredibly thorough, answered all of my questions, and described the surgery in such detail. She put me at ease and her confidence in my recovery and being able to go back to all of my previous activities was very reassuring. I highly recommend her!

I had a tough ACL problem. I tore my ACL as an adolescent and had it repaired elsewhere. I retore it playing pickup soccer. Dr. McCarthy explained the injury and successfully performed a revision ACL reconstruction with a lateral meniscus repair. It was a tough 11 months, but I'm back to soccer now! She is a great doctor and I was lucky to find her. You should see her for your ACL problem.

Excellent outcome for my daughter's revision ACL and meniscus surgery. We saw her as a second opinion for my daughter who had a second ACL tear. Dr. McCarthy fixed her ACL and meniscus and she is now back to full activity including soccer! I couldn't be happier with Dr. McCarthy or HSS! I recommend her to everyone.

We saw Dr. McCarthy for a second opinion for my daughters ACL injury. As soon as we did we knew we had found the right person to do her surgery. She explained everything to us, explained our choices for how to fix this and ensured that she answered all of our numerous questions. She did not rush us through the appointment and she made sure that the appointment was inclusive of my daughter and not just 2 adults making decisions without her input. Post surgery she came to the pediatric floor on her day off (Saturday morning) to check in on her. She walked in during a very tense moment when my daughters pain had gotten ahead of her. She first made sure that we got her pain level under control and then once again took the time to talk to her calmly and explain why it was important to take the pain medicine. I truly can't say enough nice things about her and about HSS. Both are truly world class.

I had the misfortune of tearing my ACL. I went to Dr. McCarthy as a second opinion and it was the best choice I made. She explained why I needed surgery and the different choices to fix the ACL. I recommend her to all the players on my team and everyone else who has an ACL tear. Excellent experience at HSS!

Dr. McCarthy spent a lot of time with me and explained my condition. She is exceptionally compassionate and caring! Based on my experience, I don't understand how anyone could think otherwise. She talked me through my problem and explained why I shouldn't have surgery at this time. She couldn't have been better, in my opinion.
