A little after 6 months from the surgery and having been receiving statements that were not the same amount due and my insurance still paying up to the week before she sent me a letter kicking us out of the practice, I called to see why I was being kicked out of the practice due to such a small amount owed and my insurance still paying them and they still were not able to give me the correct amount owed. I received two different pay off amounts that day from the billing ladies and they did not even realize insurance was still paying. I would gladly have paid but I had been told by my insurance to wait until everything was finalized and all payments had been made. they said it is easier to pay then to get money back for overpayment. I tried to pay the full amount hoping to be reinstated because I was actually shocked that less than six months from the surgery date and my insurance having paid and myself having paid the amount they thought I would owe upfront, that she would kick my… son out of her practice and myself as well as my other son. Now understand that I had never seen her nor had my younger son but we had seen another doctor in the facility but were not patients of hers. I find owing only the finally total they could come up with of around $186 to not be an amount that should warrant being kicked from the practice. Please understand insurance was still paying and I id pay and I had paid upfront for the surgery of around 600+. I was shocked. They said you have done this before and I questioned them what do you mean? They said had to pay it out and I replied yes but weren't you paid in full and they said yes but you did this before. I am sorry if I do not have the money to pay everything the doctor charges immediately. The problem was the insurance was still paying. Also, I had to take my son in a couple of weeks after nose surgery due complications and the receptionist said I do not know how she will bill this as part of the surgery or not so do not worry about paying today. She decided to bill for the day which was ridiculous because it was from complication from the surgery. I have never experienced such a disregard for a patient in my life. Terrible person. Sad thing is I did not have a problem with her and she did a good job on my son and I thought we had a good relationship. I verified with the staff it was her choice not theirs and she was the one that decided to kick us out. even if I paid the full amount she would not allow us back to the practice. Not a caring doctor because my son still needs an ENT and she noted that in the letter that he would be needing further assessment.

Dr. Shaffer treated me with respect and was very kind to me. She was also very professional and told me what I would expect with my surgery and recovery.I highly recommend her.
