If you go to Broomfield Family Practice, I suggest that you insist on seeing Dr. Mark Sarinopoulos. He listens, his bedside manner is kind and respectful, and he actually knows what he is doing. Dr. Salas-Meyers did not display any of those qualities, and because of this, I could have died within days without the proper treatment.

Had pulmonary emboli and she wanted to send me home to monitor the pain over the weekend, and TAKE IBUPROFEN for the pain. (I had taken a Vicodin the night before when I was experiencing a pulmonary infarction). Instead of reviewing my chart and seeing that I had been in for an ultrasound on my leg the previous week to determine if I had a blood clot (after experiencing a torn ACL and meniscus) she just assumed I was there to try and secure more Vicodin. I was wearing shorts and my leg was swollen and discolored, but she was apparently blind to that fact. After I brought these facts to light, she walked out of the office anyways. Apparently, she had second thoughts after digesting what I had told her, and she came back into the office and in a patronizing voice asked me if I had time for an X-ray "just for peace of mind". I went and had the X-ray which strongly suggested a pulmonary embolism. After an additional test that was performed with urgency (a d-dimer) she suddenly… displayed some interest and concern. I was sent to Avista for a CT scan, and it revealed not 1, not 2, but 3 pulmonary emboli in both of my lungs. But instead of having me admitted to the hospital, or having me visit her or the on-call Dr. in their office, she sent me to Walgreens to have a pharmacist teach me how to inject myself and also to buy a pulse oximeter because she and another Dr. from Broomfield Family Practice (Dr. Robertson) had released me from the hospital without first determining what my O2 sat was (<90). If I had not advocated for myself and ignored her lack of respect and observatory skills, I would have been dead before the weekend ended.

Dr Salas-Meyers has spent more time answring my questions that any other doctor I have visited.Excellent follow-up and support staff.
