Dr. Monika Mannan, MD

I experienced very poor quality of proper handling of my Referrals, Appointments also there were HIPPA (Privacy of Medical Records) that were violated! Monika wanted to have further testing regarding my chief complaint. That was perfectly fine however, she stated that she would contact the Technician who performed the first test. I realized later that she DID NOT contact that Tech. She left me a voice message stating that, she spoke with the Tech. Specialist and I will mail you a referral. She DID NOT give me any update of findings or ANYTHING that's how I know that Monika didn't contact anyone! I NEVER EVER received the referral in the mail. They confirmed that it was mailed out. However, I never got anything in the mail. My referral got delivered to the incorrect address!! I requested to please not mail out any Medical Records of any sort. They completely ignored my request and, sure enough it got mailed out elsewhere. That is a HIPPA VIOLATION! Also, when the Triage… Nurse was taking my vitals, none of the two broke down blood pressure machines were working. Literally! I certainly do not recommend this doctor!

I have been a patient of Dr. Mannan for about 15 years with Type 1b diabetes. over time she has counseled me on ways to control blood sugar and has been very frank about what happens if blood sugar is not controlled. since I am highly insulin resistant blood sugar control has been extremely difficult, even with insulin injections 3x daily. over time my A1c has varied from a low of 8.1 to a high of 10. both Dr. M and I share our frustrations over dealing with this chronic disease. I find her staff to be friendly and caring and the whole office seems to function well. Mistakes do happen from time to time but overall results are satisfactory. wait time is usually less than 15 minutes. I have found that you need to go into the appointment with your notes, blood sugar logs, food logs, etc and she will take time to review them and she will discuss why you get the results you get. she will frankly tell you that you need to eat better and exercise more and point out on those days that… you do this you get better blood sugar readings. this is not always what you want to hear but her point is that her treatment is effective when you follow her instructions, and if you do not, then you undermine that treatment. Each person has to take responsibility for their actions and there is no magic to medicine, especially when you have a chronic disease. I have referred other patients to her with no reservations about her quality of care.

My first visit and experience to Dr.Monika Mannan's office was definitely unprofessional. But her staff was amicable. This Doctor was purely shrewd! While awaiting to be seen by her, I happened to hear her yelling at a senior citizen exclaiming, "Nooooo Sugar!!!!!" I looked at my husband and said okay? Then after she came out, she acts as if she was nice and look over at me, so I smiled at her with just common courtesy. She smiled back then left and came back to the waiting area & called me. I got up and followed her because she did'nt saying anything else after calling me. Once we got to her med room that's when her bipolar kicked in! She asked me to step on the scale, but I still had on my coat,gloves, scarf, and purse on. So ofcourse, I took them off and sat them down. She took my wt. then all of sudden she disappeared! When I went to look out the med room for her she said something to me without giving me eye to eye contact walking away. I said to myself,"what? I miss the… doctors at home. I hope she's the one." Dr.Mannan says, what?! With a pick of her upper lip. Dr. Mannan said, "I said, get your things and come on!" I looked at her like she was crazy,looking around thinking oh she's not talking to me like that because she is rude. I will never ever recommend her to my worst enemy or go back to Dr.Monika Mannan's office even if she was willing to pay me a million dollars! Dr. Monika Mannan is a terrible so-called Doctor!!!!!!!! PPL....I ADVICE YOU NOT TO GO TO HER! with this Doctor was insane.

Please, I beg you, DO NOT see this doctor with any thyroid concerns. I am a 21 year old female. When my dentist noticed a mass on the right side of my neck, I went to see Dr. Mannan. When she was describing different thyroid diseases, she forgot the name of one. She had me do the sipping test but concluded that it was not a thyroid issue because the mass was on my neck and not near my thyroid. She prescribed me an ultrasound; however, multiple doctors have told me she should have prescribed a CT scan with contrast because there was clearly a concerning mass. After I got my ultrasound done, I sent it to Dr. Mannan as well as my primary care doctor. The next day, I got a call from my primary saying I needed to get a CT scan done immediately. Those results led to a biopsy, confirming that I have malignant papillary thyroid cancer. I have two tumors on my thyroid and the cancer has spread to lymph nodes all over the right side of my neck. It took Dr. Mannan A WEEK AND A HALF to call me… saying the results of the ultrasound looked concerning and she would like to see me again. By that time, I already had a surgeon and was scheduling my thyroidectomy. Three weeks later, Dr. Mannan has not followed up once, and my surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.

I visited Dr. Mannan a few times. I decided to leave her, because I was not satisfied with her explanations about my disease.

Dr. Mannen has absolutely no manners. The first time I saw her she started talking to her mic like I was not there. she was dictating that the lump in had in my neck was cancerous before even ordering or looking at a biopsy. thank god it was not!!! but in the meantime I was devastated. she tried to perform the biopsy herself, she dug 4 times in my neck to remove cells, she made me wait 2 weeks to tell me that what she removed was not enough. her office is another story, they are messy, unorganized. after I visited her office 3 month ago, they lost all proofs that I was there, even though. the doctor saw me and renewed my prescription. and now I have a problem filling my prescription, they tell me that they don't do it over the phone, and I haven't been in their office in the last 6 month, which is not true. it is like trying to communicate with a wall!!!

Dr. Mannan was professional and had good bedside manner but after what seemed like 20 expensive tests was unable to diagnose me and referred me to the National Institutes of Health. This was both unhelpful and discouraging to say the least.

Very Unfriendly, Believes in prescribing lots of medicine. Does not talk about the side effects. Unavailable for any further questions after the office visit.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Mannan. I found her office difficult to deal with and her manner rushed.
