Dr. Monika Mclain, MD

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone for anything. Not even for just your general doctor, let alone a minor/major health issue. I was misdiagnosed, luckily I knew better to get a second option after she told me “I don’t know how to treat you”. Very difficult to work with on all levels including her office staff. There are plenty of good doctors who genuinely care and she is not one of them.

Dr McLain has been my husband and my doctor for almost 25 years. She treats our adult daughter too. She has a whole life/family approach. She knows our family dynamics and how they affect our health so she can make a more holistic diagnosis. She is open to hearing new ideas and will tell you when you're reading too much on the internet. Like others who have comment we have seen wait times and availability change over the years - but she is worth the wait. She runs late because she takes the time to listen to every patient and all their concerns. I had to give 4 stars for ease and promptness of the appointment because she is worth the wait!!!! I too hate going to the physician assistant - although they may be qualified the can't hold a candle to Dr McLain!!!

Dr McLain has been my Dr for 3 years. I have a complicated health history including bladder cancer and heart disease. She has always been an amazing critical thinker and that is so important when dealing with multiple problems. I could not of found a more compassionate and intelligent physican than Dr McLain. I would highly recommend her.

Dr McLain is very thorough in her exams and diagnosis. She always treats me as if I really matter to her. She is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I realize that the wait time is often longer than usual, but I feel that she is worth the wait, as she takes time with all her patients.

Dr. McLain is my GP and she does a great job keeping up with my health issues. However, it's difficult to get a last minute (or even 1-2 weeks in advance) appointment with her, so if absolutely need a doctor same day or even next day, you'll be seeing her nurse practitioner. Also, the wait time in the office is ridiculous! I like to think it's because they spend a decent amount of time with their patients, but it's still too long to be sitting around.

My friend and I had a very good experience with her. Very patient! Good diagnosis!
