Dr. Monika Khanna Shirodkar, MD

The appointment consisted of Dr expressing nonseverity of diagnosis due to mostly unrelated symptoms ,while also refusing to investigate other causes of symptoms. She did express that at least one of my symptoms could be caused by hormonal fluctuations(fluctuations indicating non static)during my cycle. However, she also demonstrated and implied that she is not a diagnosing physician. Her statement was that she only investigates symptoms as they relate to a given diagnosis(even if these have been followed and acknowledgedby a pcp); symptoms unrelated to a previous diagnosis will not be pursued through testing or experience. We both concluded that it would be best to have a diagnosis that aligns with my symptoms before her expertise on testing or hormonal effect could be applied. While her expressions throughout the appointment and her fixated reiterations towards not needing surgery were disappointing and indicative of some social bias, I appreciate her honesty.

After visiting many drs in my own area, with 0 help, I had to travel 8 hours and cross state borders to find someone who listened to me, and took my concerns seriously. Thank you Dr Shirodkar for diagnosing me and treating my autoimmune disorder.
