Dr. Monique Marie Maly, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Maly since 2009. I have learned over the years many professionals get comfortable in their diagnosis and don't look at everything with a fresh and accurate perspective to make things right. Dr. Maly has always been willing to listen to me, work with me and research issues and collaborate with other professionals to try to get the correct answer. I am one who doesn't fit in many check boxes so helping me get optimum health is difficult. I appreciate the time and effort she has put into me as her patient.

I had been a patient of Dr Maly for over a decade, then went to a different doctor who took my health insurance. About 2 years ago, I started having GI issues. I had colonoscopy, endoscopy and scans with no diagnosis...going from one specialist to another without any resolution. I then decided that I would reach out to Dr Maly because I know that she thinks outside of the box. Since I reconnected with Dr Maly, I have a diagnosis and can enjoy life again.

I have known Dr Maly for 27 years. She was my family medicine doctor when I was 8 years old. Later, when she started her own naturopathic clinic, I found her again in my mid-20s. She has treated and guided me through hypothyroidism, gut dysfunction, food sensitivities and skin issues, gallbladder issues, and pregnancy/postpartum. When I was younger, I even saw her for mono and pneumonia. Dr Maly is someone I trust. The visits are long and focused. She really listens. I bring her many questions and she provides answers in the moment or will always follow up. Afterwards, she sends a detailed list of everything we discussed with follow up steps for me to work on. She offers suggestions of labs and tests to take but nothing is forced. She has a balanced approach. She offers the natural remedy, but still understands when it’s important to take an antibiotic or get a vaccine. I appreciate that in a health professional. Both of my parents have been patients of hers as well. She… recently moved her physical practice out of state and stopped taking insurance. The switch to telemedicine has been seamless. Although I have insurance, I trust her more than other doctors in my network and I feel the care I receive is worth the out of pocket cost. I have been seeing Dr. Maly for almost two years. I sought her expertise in naturopathic and holistic approach to treatment. I had seen "in system -established" doctors to include 2 dermatologists, 1 family practice doc, 1 allergist. Their treatment was prescription drugs. I wanted answers to what was causing my health issue. Not drugs. Dr. Maly prescribed and evaluated many tests, recommended two doctors of oriental medicine, one with a speciality in diet, one for acupuncture and herbs. I am currently taking only supplements Dr. Maly has recommended and am greatly improved! Dr. Maly listens, researches, responds to emails, and is kind. She is a doctor I feel goes above and beyond trying to help you. She is a doctor who spends more than 5 minutes trying to understand your health concerns. Her treatment takes time because of its thoroughness, but it is worth it.

I saw Dr. Maly for 2 years. At first I was really impressed with her diagnostic care (though she required a lot of tests on a regular basis (15-20 vials of blood many times a year). I appreciated many of the tests, but others were unnecessary (I tested negative for Celiac. Don't keep testing me for it). This was a tremendous cost, so depending on your insurance this might be a financial difficulty. Her "bedside manner" was lacking. She is a little on the cold side. She barely touched me on any annual exam. Her biggest concern with one's health is the health of your gut. She had me take several tests to see how my gut was doing despite the fact that I had no digestive issues. I understand the potential connection between the gut and the brain and your overall health, but no test ever revealed anything helpful. My latest appointment ended in her "firing me". I questioned some of her decisions and she became condescending and rude. She claimed that her office had called to get me to… come in 3 times and I never returned the calls or came in. I never received any call. When she said "What is wrong with you?" I walked out. It was the most unprofessional meeting with any practitioner I've ever had. She had the opportunity to say, "there seems to have been some miscommunications on both of our sides. Let's let it go and see how we can best care for you now." She chose to be rude and offer no compassion. Very disappointing and, frankly, shocking. The billing was absurd, but I have wonderful insurance that paid for everything. She just stopped accepting insurance so you will have to pay up front and try to get your insurance to pay you back for an out-of-network physician. If you want to have a relationship with a physician where you have to agree with everything she says you may have a good experience. If you want to take an active role in your care and have honest discussions avoid Dr. Maly. If you question her care, she will fire you.

Dr. Maly is very personable and intuative which makes easy for her patients to open up and contect with her.

Never had a doctor as thorough, with the care and concern for me. She's amazing.

Dr. Maly will get down to the cause of your complaints, not just treat symptoms.
