I have been to many neurologists and I have found him to be straightforward, thorough, caring and very professional! His staff returns all calls. I liked that he was concerned about all my health issues!

I went to Dr. Verona as a second opinion and was so very glad I did. He was very thorough asking many good questions and listened to my concerns and was very caring. I'm very confident in Dr. Verona and my experience was much better than a previous neurologist I had seen. I will definitely continue seeing Dr. Verona for my issues.

Don’t walk but RUN to Dr. Verona! He was amazing, patient, kind, thorough, helpful...I could go on and on! I recently saw another neurologist in Austin and had a terrible experience, so after a friend told me about Dr. Verona, I thought I would give his office a try. To my surprise, I left feeling so happy, so relieved and somewhat emotional, because I feel like I finally have a plan to attack my migraines! Dr. Verona did not “throw medicine” at me, but he also didn’t tell me to just “take 4 Advil and good luck next time you have a migraine”. I left with a plan to help prevent AND treat my migraines. I also really liked that Dr. Verona actually referenced the paperwork I filled out. He asked me questions about it, took notes, discussed my history and based my treatment on my past and current situation. In addition to Dr. Verona being a really nice person, his staff was courteous and friendly too! All of my phone calls have been returned the same day too! Dr.… Verona’s office uses a cool texting program that sends you a text when a prescription is called in for you. I confirmed my pharmacy through this program and picked the time I needed it ready- so convenient! It also gave me a coupon card to give the pharmacist if needed! Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Verona and his staff. I didn’t feel like just a number, I felt like I was treated like a human being who needed help and was given it patiently! I highly recommend Dr. Verona!

Left his office in tears. He was the rudest and most meanest doctor I have ever seen and I have seen a LOT of doctors. I have Lupus and he told me my only problem was that I was FAT. All my problems would go away if I would just loose weight. At least 1 lb a week. I have had 3 different doctors and several tests tell me I have arthritis in both knees and ankles. This doctor said I don't have arthritis, I'm just over weight! I tried to talk to him but he was so mean and shut me down every time. My grandmother went with me to the appointment and she was very upset with him. She said he was very rude. This was my very first time to meet him. I don't know why he had to be so mean and disrespectful. Stay away!!

Dr. Verona was very patient in exploring and explaining treatment options for a problem I was having. He is very skilled and compassionate

I was referred to Dr. Verona after a trip to the emergency room for what I thought were seizures. I was terrified and desperate for answers and I trusted Dr. Verona to help me figure this out. I didn't have any complaints at first. He prescribed medication, answered my questions, and we waited for things to get better. However, they didn't. I wasn't responding to any of the medications, I continued to have daily episodes, and I was ready to start making dramatic changes to my lifestyle. On the ~10th visit I asked Dr. V to sign an accommodation letter for my university so I could receive accommodations if I fell behind in my classes. Out of the blue Dr. Verona accused me of faking my seizures for these benefits (which at most would buy me an incomplete or two so I didn't have to drop out of college). I was horrified in how quickly he turned against me; he seemed to suddenly be angry with me for "wasting his time"! When I pushed back he snapped at me and threatened to take away my… driver's license, as if he was trying to prove a point. I even paid the $20 fee for the accommodation letter only to open it and find he had barely filled it out, and reported that I didn't require any accommodations. Listen, I usually only write reviews if I've had a good experience. And I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially medical professionals. However, Dr. Verona was unprofessional, unkind, and ignorant of what I was going through. It wasn't until THREE YEARS LATER that I discovered I was suffering not from epilepsy, but from something called "Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures", more commonly (and unfortunately) known as "pseudo-seizures". These "seizures" mimic epilepsy but are not caused by neurological activity. Instead they are caused by trauma or extreme and overwhelming stress. PATIENTS WHO HAVE PNES ARE HAVING A REAL AND TERRIFYING AND PAINFUL EXPERIENCE AND THEY ARE NOT FAKING THESE EPISODES. YES, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO FAKE SEIZURES BUT THEY ARE IN A DIFFERENT CATEGORY THAN PATIENTS WITH PNES AND THE DISTINCTION NEEDS TO BE KNOWN. IT TAKES ON AVERAGE SEVEN YEARS TO RECEIVE A CORRECT DIAGNOSES OF PNES AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE BOTH EPILEPSY AND PNES. Dr. Verona, if you are reading this review, and I hope you are, PLEASE educate yourself on Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures. There is plenty of research available, but not enough! At the very least you could have referred me to a mental health professional or given me an appropriate term for what I was going through. Instead you were dismissive of me and it took me three years to get the help I needed. I only want to save somebody in the future from the confusion and fear I felt under your care. I hope my experience is not reflective of who you are as a doctor.

I had previously seen Vernona for numbness in my arms. He tested me for carpal tunnel and said i didn't have it. He then ordered a mri to see if i had pinched nerve and said it was negative. Then he said he didn't know what it could be and said i should wear splints on my arms. About 6 weeks i returned to see him about dizziness and headaches after i had been diagnosed with a small aneurysm. When i went in i thought he would have reviewed my previous medical reports. He didn't and started telling me there was nothing he could do about my headaches. I asked him about ringing in my ears and he said everyone has it and there nothing you can do about it. The real shocker was when he proceeded to tell me he thought I had carpal tunnel. This was after he had tested me and told me previously I did not have it. I left feeling very frustrated because he just quickly rushed me in and out like he was just trying to get rid of me. I really believe this because my appt was at 8:10 and I arrived… early and another person walked in with me. He walk up to receptionist and said he had a 8:00 appt with Dr. Verona. This only gave him 10 minutes to see 1st appt before my appt. I will never see this doctor again and will get a 2nd appt.

Dr. Verona was thorough and made a very accurate diagnosis quickly and followed up for us to get the next step of care. His bedside manner is great - friendly and thorough with explanations
