Dr. Morris Tobias Grabie, MD

As I said after I told the doctor what was wrong he dismissed everything I said. Took my blood and said they would call me. Never heard from them and when I call to ask they are rude. Acting like I'm bothering them wanting to know what my diagnosis is. That's your job guys if you don't remember that's why you get paid. Oh wait you get paid for prescribing meds now from random companies. Go healthcare. Doctors incentive is not helping people but making money

He's been my PCP for 10 years and I couldn't ask for a better doctor. He's definitely no-nonsense, direct and to the point, which can be off-putting to people who need to take their time describing everything that's wrong with them. He doesn't waste time, and any time I've had an issue after-hours he's called within 15 minutes and been able to give me great advice on my medical issues. I was hospitalized for the first time earlier this year and he was the only doctor who visited every day, even weekends, to make sure I was getting better. The nurses at St. John's also gave me extra attention because, as the ER nurse told me, "if I don't do it right, I'll hear about it. " His referrals are always top-notch as well. I don't know how else to praise him, Dr. Grabie is the best doctor I've ever had and I value every appointment and every word he says, whether it's 90 seconds or 90 minutes long.

I have lived in LA for about three years, and meantime, I chose Dr. Grabie as my PCP. After 5 years of sojourning in the country, I live in the bay area now, and I still go and visit Dr. Grabie for his expertise. He is a great doctor. I actually am very surprised at negative reviews which he has received. His time spent with his patients are short because he is very much to the point, and is very knowledgeable about the medicine which he practices. I have always valued his opinion and knowledge. He has been practicing medicine for near 40 years. His diagnosis with me were always true and helpful.

1.5 minute appointments. Ignores your medical issues. Refuses to run tests

A total nightmare. Dr. Grabie wrote the wrong diagnosis and misbilled the insurance company. Then wouldn't correct it. After 4 months he finally partially corrected his mistake but not completely. Very rude and unprofessional.

I have been a patient for over 20 years; he has gone out of his way for me; I asked nurses at Santa Monica Hospital about him, although he can be gruff, he is an allstar according to him. He is not one to like people on their cell phones during work hours (talking to friends, etc.) and that is from the nurses at St. John's and Santa Monica. So, if you want a no-nonsense professional and are more concerned with a good mood, don't go to Dr. Grabie.

Dr. Grabie is a kind, concerned physician, who cares about his patients, and follows up on any situation. In this age of hurrying, he spends as much time as a patient needs on every appointment; He is the modern version of the old family doctor.

After nine months of following UCLA regulations to have Dr. Grabie amend his multiple mistakes on my inpatient hospital records he has refused to do so. I submitted letters and reports from other doctors who opposed his inaccurate statements but he still refuses to correct them. Fortunately I will be able to take this case to a higher level but I wonder how an elderly person unable to think clearly could defend himself/herself from the dangerous consequences this type of false, incorrect reporting. Based on my personal opinion Dr. Grabie should not be part of the medical staff of a prestigious hospital.

My mother was dismissed from the hospital with no instructions for care. Dr. G. was on vacation and no one got back to us for days. I went to Dr. G's office to beg them to respond to Hospice care but nothing was done until 4 O'clock. My mother suffered great pain waiting for the doctor's response. She passed away. It is so very hard to see your love one, specially elderly, suffer when a simple phone call could have prevented it.

Dr. Grabie's careful attention to the total well-being of his patients saved my husband's life. He refused to ignore very minor signs from my husband and ordered further tests which revealed a 99% blockage in the LAD artery - nicknamed the widow-maker because of the lack of symptoms associated with this problem. Even the cardiologists, prior to the angiogram, thought Dr. Grabie was being alarmist...only to apologize on the following day after the test and 3 stents were inserted into the coronary arteries. For my own personal experience (I also use him as my internist) he has been direct, efficient and attentive to detail. I recommend him highly
