Dr. Muhammad Mohsinul Huq, MD

My first day in the hospital Dr Huq NEVER set foot in my room until 430pm! I was very sick, severely dehydrated, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sodium levels and potassium and magnesium has bottomed out. I was told I had colitis, elevated pancreatic enzymes, and "sludge" in my gallbladder. He claimed he put out a consult for a gastroenterologist to determine whether I should have a HIDA scan. Apparently, no gastro doc called him back....which I find hard to believe, I worked in healthcare for 25 years, as a unit secretary and as a secretary to a Gyn/Onc surgeon! Consults always called back! And, I heard there was a Gastroenterologist on call on the surgical unit that was also on my floor..Needless to say I was very anxious and my blood pressure spiked at this point. Ne also told me that I was "medically ok" to be discharged, but he wanted the gastro consult. I said I was willing to stay overnight another evening if I was to have the HIDA scan in the morning. No one could give me… a reason or a time when that would happen so I signed myself out. I saw my PCP within a day or two and I contacted Dr. Fefferman who told me he wants to see me in follow-up at his office in 3 weeks! This incident was also reported to the board of health, after I was told TWICE by Dr. Huq I could return to my job after I had solid stools for 5 days.... I am very upset by this which is an understatement. I must say the nursing and all of the support staff was wonderful....and I told them that before I left! I was NEVER informed that I would need future stool cultures, nor was I informed that the board of health would be notified which may well have changed by decision to leave!! I am VERY, VERY, VERY disappointed by this whole ordeal.....I am not done with issue at all. Barbara Donovan Woburn, MA. 01801

Happy that he has left the Manchester VA.

One of the worst doctors that I have encountered, these type of doctors are quacks, and should not be eligible to practice. Iwill never go back again.
