He prides himself on being accessible to patients and their families and on taking the time to understand each individual’s concerns and goals. He is also a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the Advisory Board of the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability. He has been active at Harvard University, serving two terms on the Harvard Alumni Association Board of Directors, as Vice President of the Harvard Asian American Alumni Alliance, and as Alumni Director on the Harvard South Asian Institute Advisory Council. Dr. Prasad has been deeply engaged in public service throughout his career. He was recognized by the City of New York for his role in caring for first responders and is an honorary member of both the FDNY and NYPD, one of a small number of surgeons to have received shields from both departments. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he served as an advisor to New York City, assisting with early planning efforts.
