I HAD TO WRITE A SECOND REVIEW OF THIS AMAZING , COMPATIONATE , UBER KNOWEDGABLE , GENEROUS DOCTOR. I HAVE HAD THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS GASTRO DRS . HE STRAIGHTENED OUT MY CONFIYION AND HE HAD A HUNCH TO DO EXTRA BLOOD WORK UNCOVERING AN EASY TO FIX BUT POTENTIALY DEBILITATING IMPORTANT CONDITION VERY LOW TESTOSTERONE WITCH NO OTHER DR HAD EVEN TESTED FOR AND SUGGESTED A GREAT ENDOCHRONOLOGIST TO CHANGE MY TYPE 2 DIABETES MEDICATION ( To help correct my stomach problems)AND RAISE MY TESTERONE. IM ON THE ROAD TO A MUCH BETTER LIFE THANKS TO DR ORBUCH MY FAVORITE DR AND WHEN MEETING HIM YOU’LL KNOW WHY IMMEDIATELY ????????????????????????????????????

Visits with Dr. Orbuch feel more like a conversation than a standard rushed visit you get at the average doctor. He always takes the time to explain everything thoroughly - hes very knowledgeable.

Dr. Orbuch has ver good bedside manner and the procedure went perfectly!

A great diagnostician

Dr. Orbuch is extremely knowledgable and caring. He spent a long time listening to me - I didn't feel rushed at all. Would highly recommend!

I was referred to Dr Orbuch by my internist for a condition that's been bothering me for over 20 years and after several gastroenterologists couldn't solve and blew-off. Dr Orbuch listened intently and came up with a test that revealed the underlying issue and for which the remedy (2 weeks of medication) solved. Changed my day-to-day life.

Do NOT go to this doctor. He is unprofessional, untrustworthy, forgetful, and he is dangerous. He saw my daughter originally in his office as she was vomiting blood and experienced blood in her stool. He wanted to perform an endoscopy and told her to give herself 2 enemas the morning of the procedure so he could "take a peek" at her rectum/lower colon. We arrived at the clinic on time for her appointment. The clinic waiting room at the Gramercy Park Digestive Disease Center was overflowing. People were sitting on the floor or on upended trash cans waiting for their procedures. We were shown to a conference room to wait. When Dr. Orbuch showed up, he saw us sitting in the conference room and acted surprised. He said, "Oh yeah, you're the one that was throwing up blood and I don't like that. We're doing the endoscopy to look at what's going on, right?" My daughter again reminded him that he had instructed her to give herself the enemas so that he could look at her… rectum and lower colon while she was anesthetized to determine the cause of blood in her stool. After waiting 3 hours to be taken back to the procedure area, she still had to wait another 45 minutes before the procedure was performed. Afterward, I was shown back to the post-op area. On her gurney, were pictures taken from the endoscopy and a summary of the procedure. I asked a post-op nurse why there was not a summary of looking at her rectum/lower colon. Dr. Orbuch had not remembered to do so. My daughter had to wait another 1 1/2 hours to be taken back to the procedure area and was fully alert. Dr. Orbuch then inserted a sigmoid scope into her rectum and wanted her to watch the monitor as he moved the scope up into her body. He chastised her for saying, "Ow-that hurts" when she felt the scope in her mid abdomen. Dr. Orbuch asked her, "Are you one of those gals who need a nurse to hold your hand?' She replied, "No. You're hurting me." He replied, "Well, it can't be that bad." She was crying, stunned and panic stricken when she was brought out 15 minutes later to the post-op area where I was waiting. She was in pain and traumatized. She had been without fluids and solids for 9 hours. I asked him why she was not sedated and he replied, "She was fine." Furthermore, I had to repeatedly insist that Dr. Orbuch explain her blood test results which he stated had originally been "lost by the lab". He did not have the results from her stool sample. He did not want to discuss any dietary or lifestyle changes nor offered any further recommendations. He wanted her to come to his office for follow up. He brushed off our other questions we had and left us. It was 4:45 pm. The clinic closes at 5:00 pm. He postponed treatment by waiting until she was the last patient there and didn't bother to anesthetize her. Dr. Orbuch would have had to wait for her to come out of anesthesia. His response? "I was up early this morning to drive my kid to summer camp in Connecticut and it rained the whole way so I'm tired". Had he remembered to do the proper procedures when she was sedated, she would not have experienced such pain, she would have been released within 3 hours instead of 6 hours and would have recommendations and advice on how to proceed. I cannot emphasize strongly enough to avoid this charlatan. He is rude, dismissive and does not care about his patients. Perhaps he should remember the portion of the Hippocratic Oath to be taken by every physician, "Primum Non Nocere" translated to " First Do No Harm".

Horrible experience

I came to Dr. Orbuch desperate for pain relief after several bouts of abdominal pain that me in the ER. Previous doctors tried to write me off as having Crohn's disease. Dr. Orbuch went a step further (including immediately scheduling me for a colonoscopy, there was no longer scary wait with this man) and referred me to his brother Laurence the gynecologist, who correctly diagnosed me with endometriosis. I am now more able to manage my pain. Without Dr. Orbuch's concern and attention to detail I would have remained in pain for years. Thank you Dr. Orbuch!
