Dr. Myrna B Carag-West, MD

Never Never go to this so-called doctor. She is so unprofessional, unfriendly, and haughty. She berates patients, and does not offer words of assurance, comfort, or concern. Even her staff are like her--not friendly to new patients. There are many doctors in Irving who are more competent and professional than her. Stay away!

Never go to this clinic! She is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen in my life. When I consulted her for allergy-related issues, and she found out that I have high blood pressure for which I have consulted her earlier, she was so angry, shouting at the top of her voice.. I came to her to get help for my asthma, and here she was so agitated that my blood pressure was high. If she were a compassionate and professional person, she would have treated both my health issues. I came away so humiliated. Looking back, if it happened now, I would have filed a case against her with the Texas Medical Board. At that time, I was new in America, and did know much better! Until now, I remember that incident, and compare her to my present doctors, and what a bad doctor she is. Never again!

She is the kind of doctor that takes time to listen and talk to her patients especially the elderly….Compassionate, caring and does follow up calls...Over all, Dr. West is one of the best doctor in Irving,TX

I have been Dr. West's patient for over 20 years. She always has her appointments well planned that there is almost never any waiting time. I've yet to have time to finish a magazine article! She is interested not only in my health issues, but in my emotional and mental well being as well. Always her final question is 'anything else'? She is my favorite Dr. ever. Caring and professional.

Her office is run so well, I have never had time to read a magazine article. Her diagnosis of my problem has always been correct. She has referred me to the correct specialist if I have needed any additional procedures. She encourages 'self accountability' such as proper nutrition, hydration, and exercise. She is warm and personable...I have been seeing her for over 35 years. She is my favorite doctor ever.

Called to make an appointment, as this provider was assigned to me by my insurance, and was asked if I received my insurance through the Affordable Care Act. I was then told they were not taking patients from that program. As I questioned this person about their refusal, they put someone else on the phone claiming they weren't accepting new patients regardless. I feel that this is an unethical practice, and I am glad I found out before I saw the doctor.

Needs to be more caring and less abrupt. Comes off as rude, mean and hateful.

Was rude in speaking with us and refused to discuss whether or not my Mother was over-medicated. Her response, "she's just old". I would rate quality of care "0". I would never go to this Dr.She needs a personality check.

Very unprofessional. No follow ups. No accountability. This doctor needs to be investigated.

Contrary to the previous comment, I found Dr West very caring and did not sugar coat what needed to be done, to others they may find this as uncaring, I would rather have a Dr tell me straight rather than candy coat whats the diagnosis is
