Dr patel is excellent. He took the time to listen to our concerns over our sons Tonsils. Explained all the risks and benefits in a way we could understand. In my sons case it was surgery or attempt medication. Told us to sit and think about it for a few days and then hed call us to know our decision. LOVED that we didnt feel pressured on what to do next.

Dr. Patel was SO good and understanding with me and our little baby girl when we found out she had a tongue and lip tie. I was so nervous about doing any kind of procedure with her being so young but he was perfect in easing my fears and allowing me plenty of time to ask lots of questions, I never felt rushed or pressured at all, and I couldn't stay in the room to watch it so he told me where the bathroom was and before I was even done washing my hands he was already done and she was back asleep! :) We followed his simple instructions for the short recovery period after and she is doing amazing! Her breastfeeding is so much better and it's so much easier on both of us now, if you are having breastfeeding problems and/or think your child has a tongue or lip tie I can't recommend him and his entire office and friendly nurses enough, thank you!

The absolute worst doctor's office experience ever. After only reaching an off- answering service for 3 days, I finally got through by telling them I would find a new ENT. Magically, somebody was available. After my first conversation and being transferred, I was on hold for over 20 minutes before being disconnected. when I was able to get back through, I was told that the person I was waiting for what in a clinical and could no longer speak to me. I said I would hold. after 5 more minutes on hold, 8 different person ask me who I was waiting for. I told them the name and they told me that she was on the phone and would be leaving right afterwards. needless to say I did not get a hold of the right person. if you choose to see doctor patel and I hope you don't, I pray you never need to talk to anyone after you leave the office.

my son has not been able to speak clearly due to his chronic ear infections and his prior ped doctor refusing to give us a referral to a ent . So I changed ped doctors and my new ped sent me to Dr Patel asap. In our first visit DR patel looked at my son and noticed that my son's stomach was bloated and mentioned that he has a food allergy ( i did not think anything about it ) .so we did a allergy test and he was right my son is allergic to milk and eggs ( which he had everyday of his life). When we stopped giving him eggs and milk he was no longer congested, however he still needed to have tubes and have his sinuses flushed due to the fluid being so thick for so long . Our second visit we went over lab results and scheduled surgery . Now it has been almost two months and my son it speaking so much clearer and enjoys the little things in life , like the birds singing in the morning (that it may not have been able to hear for about 2 years) . Now my son is growing and learning so… quickly and if I did not listen to DR patel, have the surgery, and change his diet, I know that would not be possible . Im very greatful for Dr patel and his expertise and my son is very greatful.

My daughter had a persistent ear infection that would not go away after being treated with multiple antibiotics. We were referred to Dr. Patel who suggested dietary changes (no more milk) and a steriod. He seemed more focused on getting my 11 month old child off of milk based formula than he did about her ears. After getting a 2nd opinion I learned that seriods are contraindicated for middle ear infections and should not have been prescribed. Also, Dr. Patel is notorious for suggesting that his patients remove milk from their diet (it's like he has a vendetta against milk). Our new ENT explained that the problem is ear mechanics. The persistent infection is due to trapped fluid in the middle ear that cannot drain. Steriod and milk will not make trapped fluid drain, only time or surgery will. I will never use Dr. Patel again and would not recommend him either. Seeing him was a waste of time.

He did a great job. Very knowledgable. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Patel is clearly a great doctor, but his office is run in a very inconsiderate manner. For each appoinment I waited at a minimum of 1 and 1/2 hours. Considering he is a pediatric ENT, I also find in unbelievable he has NO toys in the Fletcher office and 1 toy in the Wesley Chapel office. I changed to Dr. Karin Hotchiss and WOW what a relief. Never waited for more than 5-10 minutes, she has an in-house audiologist so that saved me another doctors trip. She is wonderful doctor with an amazing staff that are all GREAT with kids. I am a working mom and I need a doctor that values my time as much as his/her own. Dr. Patel seems to make it standard operating procedure to run 1 - over 2 hours behind. Atleast a phone call would be a basic common courtesy to provide the opportunity to reschedule.
