Dr. Nana Kwadwo Britwum, MD

I have been hospitalized twice for complicated UTI/Sepsis. Dr Britwum was the hospitalist who was assigned my case. His initial manner is a bit abrupt but his knowledge, willingness to listen, and clarity of explanations is outstanding. I am sure his careful assessment and monitoring of my condition and decisions regarding my treatment saved my life. Rebecca Primm

The doctor refused to answer my questions, laughing at them, while accusing me of self diagnosing a rare genetic condition that he had no idea I had, even though it was in my chart, my rheumatologist works for the same hospital, and I told him multiple times I had the condition. He simply ignored the condition for days while I lay in a hospital bed receiving minimal pain management assistance and took no course to actually improve my health. He was arrogant and rude. He refused to hear my concerns and seek assistance from other doctors for a rare condition that is the entire cause for my hospital stay.

I was in the ER recently and was then admitted to the hospital itself. When the doctor finally came to my room we went through the process of him asking me questions and me answering him. The tone of his questioning, and tone of his responses to my questions were very demeaning. His mannerisms were almost like I'm wasting his time. I specifically remember during one part of our conversation where he said he will prescribe Oxycontin for my pain & I replied to that I've had that before & it didn't work for my pain. I told him that in the ER they gave me Zofran & Morphine and another time Dilaudid, and he arrogantly responded that is not warranted here. And the end of the conversation he said he will see me tomorrow. I never did seem him again, & on my 3rd day there another doctor came in & I asked is this Dr. Britwum coming to see me today & she said yes, & I told her I do not want to see this doctor and am requesting another doctor to work with me. And after giving my explanation they… complied. I do not recommend this doctor Britwum at all. His people skills and his attitude needs re-educating for this field of work

Dr. Britwum is the rudest physician I have ever encountered. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. He spoke to me like child and refused to spend more than 2 minutes explaining what he needed from me.
