Dr. Nancy Yenhsuan Chang, MD

I made an appointment online to get a physical and to get a one page form filled out by a licensed clinician. Dr. Nancy Chang was extremely rude to me in regards to how I went about this. She berated me for not calling Kaiser first, and implied that I had no common sense. She compared my needing a physical and form filled out to another patient who made an online appointment for a fractured knee, saying that both of us similarly did not think things through because we could not achieve the results we needed. She didn't seem to know how she was behaving until she said, 'I don't want to be mean, but...' and 'I don't want to give you a hard time, but...' and continued her tirade. So apparently she knew she was out of line but proceeded anyway. I told her she was speaking to me inappropriately, to which she responded, 'Well I'm sorry, but this is just not the way things are done here, etc etc.' She gave a throwaway apology and then qualified her behavior with a ton of excuses which… basically summed up to her needing to spend time doing her job. There was a point where I didn't understand if she was complaining about me, about the online appointment system, or about her job in general.

When Dr. Chang moved to Pleasanton from Park Shadelands, I chose to follow, even though it would be a longer drive for me. Dr. Chang is a good doctor. She listens, asks good questions, lets me know the info I need to know.
