Beware of "non-intrusive" surgical procedures with this doctor. Everyone cannot be good at everything.

I have been going to Dr. Hafner for many years. My last visit was my last. I like Dr. Hafner, but her staff is unbearable. They are rude and condensing. I know three other patients that I had referred to her, leave for the same reason. I had an issue on my last visit and was informed by the Radiologist that there was an issue before I received a letter from Dr. Hafner's office. I never received a call from Dr. Hafner, which was so unlike her. There was never a follow up, even though this could have been life threatening. Luckily everything turned out okay and I am fine. I still have not had a followup call. I am still wondering what happened to Dr. Hafner and her staff.

Let me just say, I LOVE Dr. Hafner. She is the sweetest, warmest, most wonderful doctor ever. She's so kind and spends time with you, knows her stuff, answers your questions, listens to your concerns, and is always smiling and friendly. I trust her completely and cannot say enough good things about her. Now for the bad. Her staff is a NIGHTMARE. They are unresponsive, unhelpful and SO rude. I've never dealt with people that rude and it is always the same. They will not lift a finger to help you; if they even half way do their job they act like they've moved heaven and earth and expect you to grovel at their feet. If I didn't love Dr. Hafner so much, I would not put up with their nonsense.

I just had an appointment with Dr. Hafner this morning and I think I reached my breaking point. Normally, I do not write reviews but I think this deserved one today. I've been seeing Dr. Hafner for awhile now. I've never really had any problems until the last couple of years. This is a great practice if you like to get in and out--and I mean literally in and out. I understand people are busy but there is no reason why I should feel like I'm waiting at the DMV rather than seeing my Gynecologist. The woman who signed me in was nice and helpful for once. I waited for a bit, but I was early due to a change in my personal information. Routinely, the nurse asked me what was going on and vacated so I could get ready for my appointment with the doctor. Dr Hafner is a very nice woman, she really is, but I came in with an issue and I felt like I didn't leave feeling any better than when I came in. Everything was rushed. I felt like my questions were not answered and thought it was silly to… go chasing down my own doctor. Now, I do not need someone to sit there while I bear my soul on every issue with my life--but I had an issue and wanted more reassurance than just a prescription thrown at me. She rushed out before I could say "Thank you or Have A Nice Day." That's fine. If I was coming in for a yearly exam or pap, that's one thing. But a general concern? No, it just didn't sit right today. Once I made my way back up to the Reception Desk, that's when the fun started. I was checked out by a girl who was nothing but rude to me. Hey, we're women--we have our days...but this office seems to attract receptionists who either have been trained wrong, do not enjoy their jobs or find some sort of empowerment treating others this way. Whatever it is, I really don't care. I'm coming in for a service, check your attitude at the door. She tells me the total of my visit today and I mentioned I haven't had to pay that before. Unbeknownst to me, my insurance had gone up. I was more or less thinking out loud. Not soon after, in the rudest tone she says, "Check your card." I didn't say more than two more words then left. After many years of this, I think that was it. It's terrible good doctors are represented by such ignorant, rude staff. Unfortunately, it's one of the reasons patients switch to another doctor.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Nancy Hafner. The office staff was friendly and my visit with Dr. Hafner met all my expectations. She did not rush me, asked questions and made me feel comfortable. She had come highly recommended - and I'm now doing the same.

I've never dealt with a collectively more rude and less competent group of people than the clowns they have working reception and as nurses in the Fairfax Gyn Office. It's one thing to be rude and its one thing to be terrible at your job but it's another thing to be both. In my most recent encounter the doctor asked me to give a urine sample so a culture could be done. Several days later I got a call saying "all your tests were negative" and Dr. Davis's nurse Laura hanging up and seeming irritated if god forbid I asked for any clarification on that. So I assumed, naturally, since I'd given them a urine sample that it had been tested for infection. WRONG. They simply tossed it, which I didn't find out until I pressed them a week later. No one could explain what had happened nor would take any accountability for it. So I went in and left another urine sample -- this time they didn't even label it with my name. When I called the receptionist on it she said "oh, the nurse will remember".… If I hadn't already started seeing a urologist at that point I would've been worried.Laura has been rude, completely unprofessional, and just an outright soil at every turn -- when I finally decided the grief just wasn't worth it and asked her to fax my reports to the new dr she said she had...but surprise..she hadn't. I've never given this staff a single question or task that they've answered or completed with any degree of care or efficiency. Also, a new favorite excuse of theirs is "the system going down" re: their answering machine says they're closed and you can't get through beyond the general voicemail. This occurred for an entire day in my most recent experience, despite the office being open.A bunch of high schoolers would be more effective running this office than this crew of incompetent middle aged women and aspiring nurses (I can't accept them actually being nurses).

I have to agree with posts on other 'review' sites: the staff is VERY unreliable with returning phone calls or calling in prescriptions. I am changing doctors today because of I'm tired of the run around. I talked to the receptionist 3x yesterday (as well as 3x with my pharmacy--who still took the time to fax the office a request [twice] to fill a prescription since Dr. Hafner's office staff didn't follow through). I even called the after-hours, on-call doctor, who still didn't even have the courtesy to call me back regarding my unfilled prescription. The following day, they put me on hold for 10 minutes and said they would "take care of it" later that day. Forget it! Though I found Dr. Hafner to be adequate, I'd rather deal with a doctor who makes an effort to hire competent staff and ascertain that her patients' requests/concerns are being addressed in a timely manner, or at all.

I was a patient of Carolyn Davis who retired this spring. I saw Dr. Hafner today. The entire office staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. Hafner listened and offered practical suggestions.
