Dr. Nancy Beth Lebowitz, MD

Dr. Liebowitz has been my gynecologist for over 12 years. She is likely the most thorough and competent physician (not JUST GYN) that I have been to both in New York and California. I trust her opinion in all things female and have received excellent advice on a multitude of issues. I highly recommend Dr. Liebowitz especially to post menopausal women concerned with their own health and well-being.

Knowledgeable, easy to ask questions, thoughtful. Excellent follow up. Highly recommend.

Dr. Lebowitz was very friendly, but I did not realize until I left that she only writes birth control prescriptions 6 months at a time. For someone who has been on birth control for years, there is no medical reason to go back to the OBGYN twice a year - except to pad her billables. There is enough frivolous cost in the healthcare industry, and greedy doctors like this only make it worse. I think I'll skip the $365 out-of-pocket cost for an unnecessary visit, thanks.

Dr. Lebowitz seemed like a good gynecologist who is up on issues related to women's health for all ages and not focused on obstetrics like most gynos. my first visit she acted very rushed and distracted and didn't even allow me to finish sentences regarding issues i was experiencing, but she gave good advice like taking vitamin D3. She sends you to get blood tests at a lab instead of doing it there, which isn't huge deal, but it was never explained until you're ready to head out, so another 45 minutes or so was needed to walk over to the lab and give blood. and i was disappointed when blood tests came back and she had only requested hormone levels, so need to go back to primary care doc for full annual bloodwork. then i went for screenings she recommended and got a copy of results and after more than two weeks had to contact her to ask for some explanation regarding fibroids and cysts that were reported. after several brief emails, where it was like pulling teeth to get an… explanation, her staff person called me and said "Dr. Lebowitz asked me to call because she said you keep emailing." it went downhill from there, she wouldn't let me speak, and I was actually in tears by the end because i couldn't believe i had to work so hard and counter such resistance to find out what was going on in my body. two curt emails came from Dr. Lebowitz. although i think she is a smart woman's doctor, i do not recommend her based on my experience.

I had bleeding between my periods. I went to three different gynecologists and one even did a D and C to check my lining(I am only 28). When the bleeding continued a friend recommended Dr. Lebowitz. She diagnosed me with Chlamydia infection. After antibiotics the bleeding finally stopped-she is the best!

She insisted I have a breast sonogram with my mammogram because my breasts are cystic. The mammogram was negative but the sonogram showed something that needed to have a biopsy. It was a precancerous and I had it removed! I can't thank her enough.

Diagnosed my uterine cancer early enough that surgery alone cured me!

Terrific gyn. Listens. Doesn't treat you like an actuarial statistic. Love her!

I was not feeling like myself since going through the menopause. I had been to so many doctors and no one could help. I was tired, depressed, no sexual desire. Everyone kept saying estrogen would help, but I have a strong family history of breast cancer and it would be a bad idea. Dr. Lebowitz suggested I take Vitamin D3 to help my mood and prevent breast cancer. She told me about testosterone pellets but told me it was my choice(it does not have the same risks as estrogen). I tried it and feel great! I am really grateful to her.

I had abnormal bleeding that two doctors told me was due to my perimenopause. I went to Dr. Lebowitz because it continued, and she did an in office biopsy. I had uterine cancer. She referred me to a gyn oncologist for surgery. The cancer was early and she saved my life.
