He regularly attends advanced-practice continuums and continuing education programs in order to provide his patients with the best, most up-to-date dental treatment possible. Dr. Shires strongly believes in evidence based dentistry and personalizes individual treatment plans designed around a patient's overall systemic health.
Dr. Shires is also a Dental Officer for the Oregon Army National Guard and has been in the US Army for over 13 years. Prior to joining the Dental Corps he was an Airborne qualified Infantry Officer and has served a tour of duty in Baghdad, Iraq.
Dr. Shires was born and raised in Coos Bay, OR and is proud to call Oregon home. He is married to his wife Melissa and has three children.
His hobbies include fishing, downhill skiing, working on cars, and riding motorcycles.
