Dr. Nathan F E Ullrich, MD

I read other bad reviews before going to Dr. Ullrich for the first time but ignored it because he had the soonest appointment and I didn't want to wait longer. I learned my lesson the hard way that there's a reason why he has the soonest appointment available. He doesn't have bedside manners, doesn't explain anything unless you ask every single question, he doesn't seem to want to be there with you and his appointments are awfully short after waiting 45+ minutes, and he is aggressive with removing kidney stones. I would not recommend him to anyone!

Terrible experience. During an operation, while I was still out, he gave me too much morphine and I nearly died. He disappeared from the hospital and the entire facility, if not for the nurses God only knows what would have happened. He is either highly ignorant of his field or just doesn't care. I have heard horror stories about him trying to force catheters into patients, leaving patients, waiting, as well as other surgical nightmares.

Have had two visits. One for diagnosis and one for a biopsy. Both were very courteous, to the point and pleasant--if you can rate a biopsy as pleasant. Critically, it is my view that Dr. Ullrich is extremely competent--and this among all things is the most important piece of information for anyone considering a physician for medical evaluation.

Nice, efficient & thorough. A top notch physician who obviously cares for his patients & compassionately served the needs of both me & my wife.

Earlier ratings seem spot on (with the exception of the last two that are suspicious to me after meeting this guy). I changed doctors after a few visits to Ullrich and it was none too soon. My health and life was too important to not take time to leave this review.

Nice guy. Explained my problem well. Answered questions effectively. Gave me options for treatment. Called me back in a timely manner when I had a question. His staff was helpful in answering questions.

Dr. Ullrich took the time with me to fully understand my problem. He showed he cared about my well-being. I will go back to him if any other problems ever occur

Dr. Ullrich performed surgery for my incontinence issues and things became worse. He convinced me a second surgery would fix everything. It certainly didn't and I'm much worse than when we started although I am still alive after two operations while being over "social security age". I am now gong to Spokane for my care and they are helping. I did't wish my quality of life to go down just because I went to a doctor. Spokane has several doctors.(I am typing this for my elderly mother who wishes to have her story heard - as she sits here beside me and dictates it. For my two cents, do yourself a favor and at least drive to Lewiston, Clarkston or Spokane. Really.)

Dr. Ullrich recommended an immediate biopsy of my prostate after my PSA slightly crossed the 4.0 threshold. He charged about $260 for a half hour visit that included a DRE. He did not ask if I had had sex the night before the PSA test (which elevated the results) and he did not consider an infection as the cause of my elevated PSA until I suggested it. After taking some antibiotics and NOT having sex before the repeat PSA, my PSA went down to 3.3. I saw a different urologist, in Spokane, who spent almost an hour with me, did a DRE and also an ultrasound of my bladder. He charged about $220. My overall impression of Dr. Ullrich is that he is more interested in performing profitable procedures (like biopsy) than in patient welfare.
