Dr. Nathan Edward Williams, MD

I've read some other comments … Williams will pray with you but if you stop worshiping him as a physician, he doesn't hesitate to violate the doctor-patient relationship. Questioning him, when you know he is wrong leads to him telling you to find another doctor. My information was verified by the radiologist, my new surgeon and my new oncologist. And today I confirmed that his complete failure to provide necessary information means I can't have the plastic surgery I need to "make me whole". Even though I asked for this information BEFORE my cancer surgery. A year after radiation, I find out the self-serving jerk put all the money he wanted into his pocket and left me without recourse. I have had several medical personnel tell me he is a different doctor since he left HOPE. It's a shame.

Dr. Williams is compassionate, caring, and professional. I can't imagine having gone through my cancer diagnosis and treatment with anyone else.

I was so fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Nathan Williams. He is extremely knowledgeable and does not hesitate to collaborate with his peers. Dr. Williams established The Hope Center in Asheville. Both he and his staff are genuinely kind, caring, and helpful to everyone. No question goes unanswered. You will not find a better women’s oncologist in North Carolina.

I cannot say enough good about Nathan Williams or his staff. They have, for over 2 years, shown me care that is beyond excellent. It is obvious that there is an environment of family and trust between staff and that has a beautiful trickle-down effect to the patients! Quality care unmeasured!

No complaints about Dr. Williams' surgical skills. He appears caring and concerned but if you question anything he says or express any concerns he is not as congenial. After a year of being his patient it was time to get back on a routine of follow-up mammograms. He wanted to do a mammogram in his office. Since I have very dense breast tissue, I requested to be referred for an all breast ultrasound (ABUS) in addition to a mammogram. Last year even Dr. Williams said I should have the ABUS along with a mammogram. It was the ABUS that caught my cancer not the mammogram. Instead of referring me he said "If you are not happy with the services we are providing you should find another doctor." I was completely blindsided. In the year I had been his patient there had never been a cross word or disagreement. He refused to explain his change of opinion or explain what the alternative test would be. He did not offer to assist finding another doctor. My gynecologist has referred me for a… mammogram, an ABUS and a new oncologist. I don't owe the man a dime and he kicked me to the curb like I was something to be scraped off the bottom of his shoes.

I suffered greatly as a patient of Dr.Williams. I would not recommend him to anyone.

When I was diagnosed with BC, I called for an appointment with Dr. Williams and was told he was out of town all week and then slammed with appointments and that Thursday was the earliest he could see. So I couldn't wait and went to Hope Cancer Center where I had the most miserable experience. Aside from having to wait over 3 hours to see a Dr. I left more confused than when I had arrived. Once Dr. Williams checked in with his nurse Friday, and she told him about me, he came in early Monday morning so he could see me before his scheduled appointments. I left knowing a lot more than I did before I went in. Dr. Williams is so very good at what he does and he is very kind but honest when he tells you about your disease. I don't think there is a better Dr. out there and I am so very grateful that I found him.
