Dr. Naushira Pandya, MD

We heard Dr. Pandya speak at our retirement Village, John Knox. We were impressed with her and made our first appointment last week. She had some of her interns do tests but she did the majority and spent a lot of time with my husband and is having 2 more test done and then we will see her in 2 weeks. She is the first doctor we have had here that seemed really through and interested, she specializes in Geriatrics which I feel is what we need. We did spend a bit of time with the various tests, but that is why we were there.

I found, that although wait time is short, you basically have to go through two examinations. The first by her assistant and intern, and then by Dr. Pandya. They did not seem to focus on the problem at hand, which was tapering off of Prednisone. Instead, they concentrated on the reason that I was on it,which is no longer an issue. I was also very confused with her treatment plan. Instead of prescribing me the medication to taper, she told me to get the 10 mg Prednisone, from my primary physician, and prescribed me the 1mg Prednisone, for the taper. That makes no sense to me. I have called to speak to her twice, as I can't get an appointment with my PCP, until next week, and am out of the 10 mg Prednisone. She is aware that I become very ill, without it, yet still no return call. Very disappointed, so far.
